Isaiah Thomas Responds to Anthony Edwards' Controversial Michael Jordan Comments
When Michael Jordan entered the NBA from the University of North Carolina, he was fully aware of the great players from whom he could learn. He praised legends like Julius Erving from the start. In his book For The Love of the Game, Jordan reflected: "When I came into the league, I wasn't nearly as enamored with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird as I was with Julius Erving. I had a couple of games against Philadelphia during my first season, but I couldn't do anything when I was matched up with Julius because I had so much admiration for him."
Recently, Anthony Edwards made headlines by dismissing players from Jordan's era, expressing a lack of respect for their skills. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Edwards remarked, "They say it was tougher back then than it is now. But I don't think anybody had skill back then. Michael Jordan was the only one that really had skill."
Isaiah Thomas, a fierce rival of Jordan, responded sharply to Edwards' comments: "Propaganda works, so be careful what you choose to believe."

Anthony Edwards could see his ego fall hard
Unless Anthony Edwards can back up his bold claims with tangible results, he might struggle to adapt and succeed in the NBA. While he's a talented player who made the Playoffs last season, he has yet to achieve significant accomplishments. Isaiah Thomas, a standout player from Michael Jordan's era, clearly took offense to Edwards' remarks.
It's uncertain how long it will take for Edwards to secure a championship, but he risks clashing with his own ego if he doesn't deliver on his words. Talking a big game is easy, but proving oneself on the court is another matter. Many are watching to see which tough defender might challenge Edwards and put him in his place next season.
