Julius Randle expressed his gratitude for his time in New York as reports surfaced about his impending trade. The three-time All-Star is reportedly being dealt, along with Donte DiVincenzo, to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns. This move brings an end to Randle's five-year stint with the franchise. Taking to Instagram, Randle shared a heartfelt message, thanking the city he’s called home during his time with the Knicks.

The post featured a photo of Julius Randle with the ball at Madison Square Garden, captioned simply, "New York! Thank You!"

During his five seasons with the Knicks, Randle averaged 22.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists, earning all three of his All-Star selections with the team. He was instrumental in breaking the Knicks' seven-year playoff drought in the 2020-21 season.

In 2023-24, Randle put up impressive numbers, averaging 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and five assists across 46 games. Now, he will join Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert on a Timberwolves squad that reached the Western Conference Finals last season and is aiming to go even further.

Entering the final year of his contract, Randle will look to either secure a lucrative extension with Minnesota or position himself as a top free agent next summer.
