Mavs' Kyrie Irving Selected as Injury Replacement for 2025 NBA All-Star Game
Kyrie Irving earns his 9th All-Star nod, replacing injured Anthony Davis.

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving has been selected by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured forward-center Anthony Davis on Team Shaq for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.

This marks Irving’s ninth All-Star selection. He is averaging 24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 47.5% from the field, 40.7% from three-point range, and 90.1% from the free throw line in 42 games this season.

Davis, a 10-time NBA All-Star, was originally drafted onto Team Shaq by general manager Shaquille O’Neal but will be unable to participate due to a left adductor strain.

The 74th NBA All-Star Game is set for Sunday, Feb. 16, at Chase Center in San Francisco. The event will feature a new four-team, three-game mini-tournament format, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
