Reports: Cavs Acquire De'Andre Hunter in Trade with Hawks


Forward-guard De’Andre Hunter is reportedly on his way to Cleveland in exchange for guard Caris LeVert, forward Georges Niang, three second-round picks, and two pick swaps, according to multiple reports.
The Cavaliers finalized the deal just hours before the 3 p.m. Eastern trade deadline. There was also speculation that the trade could be expanded to facilitate other moves by the Hawks, though it remained unclear if that materialized.

Hunter has spent his entire career with Atlanta since being selected fourth overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. This season, he's averaging a career-best 19.0 points, along with 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 37 games in the 2024-25 campaign.
LeVert, a seasoned veteran known for his scoring ability, has contributed 10.2 points and 3.7 assists in 23.8 minutes per game for Cleveland this season. Niang, a 6-foot-7 forward with NBA experience dating back to 2016, joins Atlanta after spending just over a season with the Cavaliers. He's averaging 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds across 51 games this year.
