Suns Acquire Nick Richards and Second-Round Pick from Hornets

The Hornets have reached an agreement to trade Nick Richards and a future second-round pick to the Suns, as first reported by ESPN’s Sham Charania. In return, Phoenix will send Josh Okogie and three second-round picks to Charlotte.

Hornets receive:
- Josh Okogie

The Suns enhance their depth by acquiring Richards, who is expected to provide backup center minutes. The 7-footer is averaging 11.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in nine starts with the Hornets this season. A second-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Richards has spent his entire four-year career in Charlotte.
Okogie, meanwhile, has played 25 games for the Suns this season, with one start. The 27-year-old guard is averaging 6.0 points and 2.9 assists in 2024-25.
