Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics to a crucial 106-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Tatum scored 31 points, while Brown contributed 30, helping the Celtics maintain their dominance in the best-of-seven series.

Despite trailing 91-70 early in the fourth quarter, the Mavericks mounted a spirited comeback, narrowing the gap to just one point with three and a half minutes remaining. However, they fell short of completing their rally and turning the game in their favor.

Kyrie Irving led the scoring for Dallas with 35 points, supported by Luka Doncic's 27 points, although Doncic fouled out of the game with just over four minutes left on the clock.

With this win, Boston now stands one victory away from their 18th NBA title and their first since 2008. The next game is scheduled for Saturday at 01:30 BST.

"We're staying focused, not relaxing at all," said Tatum. "Our motto is 'However long it takes.' We're determined to finish strong."

Brown added, "It was a huge win for us. We stayed composed despite their momentum and made crucial shots when it mattered. We're finding ways to win."

Facing a daunting 3-0 deficit, the Mavericks acknowledge the challenge ahead. "It's not over till it's over," said Doncic. "We believe in ourselves. It's first to four, and we're in this together."
