Thunder Surge Past Celtics to Set Franchise-Record 15th Consecutive Win

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted 33 points and 11 rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Boston Celtics 105-92 on Sunday, securing a franchise-record 15th consecutive win.
The Thunder, now 30-5, have not lost a game that counts in the standings since December 1, with their only defeat during that period coming in the NBA Cup final, which doesn't count towards their record. The previous franchise record for consecutive wins was set by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1996.
Jayson Tatum led the defending NBA champion Celtics with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown contributed 21 points but struggled in the second half, going scoreless on 0-for-7 shooting.
Gilgeous-Alexander got the Thunder off to a strong start, scoring nine points in the first 3 1/2 minutes to give his team an early lead. However, Boston responded and led 65-55 at halftime.
Oklahoma City battled back, trimming the deficit to 80-76 at the end of the third quarter and regaining the lead early in the fourth on a pair of free throws from Jalen Williams. The Thunder pulled away, with back-to-back 3-pointers from Lu Dort putting them up 100-88 with under two minutes remaining. Dort scored 11 points, hitting all three of his 3-point attempts in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma City's defense stifled Boston in the second half, limiting them to a season-low 27 points. The Celtics’ previous low for a half was 44 points.
