Ansu Fati injury was recovered completely and he could play his first starting game for Barca in the game against Valencia yesterday. His performance was great. In the 5th minute, Jose Gaya gave the guests a dream start with a sizzling strike. The home team seemed less confident. However, Fati’s goal in the 13th minute awoke the whole team. The 2002-born player had an eye-catching performance when he dribbled the ball from the left wing, smashed, and hit Depay before scoring into Valencia’s net surprisingly to equalize the 1-1 score for Barca.

The “new number 10” of Barca still played tenaciously. He, himself, brought a penalty for the club after being fouled by Jose Gaya. Memphis Depay then hit the ball successfully to reverse the comeback of Blaugrana against Valencia in the 41st minute after being beaten in recent games. In an overwhelming game, Barca continued having their third goal in the 85th minute thanks to Philippe Coutinho.

After the match, Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman admitted “Fati’s quality is undeniable”. He added: “We have a plan with him (Fati). He played from the beginning for the first time today. Little by little, he will be better and become more important. He is a different player from the rest of the team."

Ansu Fati is Barca’s future

The 3-1 win over Valencia has not been a sign showing the return of a strong Barcelona. The future of manager Ronald Koeman has been still uncertain due to Barca’s bad games recently but the rise of Fati is like some new ray of hope for the Camp Nou owners. At the age of 18, Fati needs to practice and play more to become a legend but obviously, the “new number 10” of Barca is playing impressively to gradually prove that he can fill the void that Lionel Messi left the past summer.

Among an attacking line that has been criticized as being mediocre at Barcelona since the beginning of the 2021-22 season, Ansu Fati has now become the most expected player. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Barca leadership is planning to sign a new contract with this young talent before the El Classico game happens. They hope that Fati can create a push to make things better. Meanwhile, Fati is considered ready to stay at Camp Nou. The Spaniard young striker confirmed with his agent that he just wanted to play for Barca. He understands the expectation that Culers put on him after the departure of Messi and he was ready to deal with all ahead challenges.
