Tottenham and Man City are the two brilliant candidates who are promised to bring us the most attractive game before ending the season.

Tottenham defeated Brentford by 2 - 0 in the semi-final and Man City also won their same-city rival Manchester United at the same scores.

When is the EFL Cup Final held?

The final match to call out the champion of the 2020-2021 Carabao Cup will be held at 4:00 pm, on Sunday, April 25th, 2021. Originally, the EFL Cup final was scheduled to be played on 28 February 2021.

However, the EFL have moved the fixture two months afterward with the expectation to see more fans can attend the very last round.

The EFL Cup Final will take place at Wembley Stadium, London, England. This is one of the most famous venues, which hosts numerous biggest football tournaments in the world.

Are fans allowed at the EFL Cup Final?

There hasn’t been an official announcement that fans can attend the EFL Cup Final. However, it is believed that with the postponement of the final match, there is a high chance that this will be tested as the first return of the crowd.

Despite the large capacity of the Wembley Stadium with 90,000 seats, the estimated attendants would be only around 8000 to make sure that they will still keep distance from each other. The official confirmation might be revealed next week, around the beginning of April 2021.

About the EFL Cup

This section will help you understand more about the cup tournament you are expecting to watch its final round.

What is EFL Cup?

EFL Cup is a knockout football tournament involving English football clubs. It was introduced for the first time in the 1960-1961 season.

The EFL Cup used to be called the Football League Cup, organized by the English Football League (EFL). It is held annually, from August to February, which three months sooner than other top divisions like the Premier League, EFL, or FA Cup, normally finish their seasons in May.

What is another name of the EFL Cup?

EFL Cup is also well-known as the Carabao Cup due to sponsorship reasons. Carabao is an energy drink, whose logo symbol is used in the EFL Cup official log from the 2017-2018 season to the present.

How does the EFL Cup work?

As already mentioned, EFL Cup is a knockout competition. It comprises 92 football teams from the top four tiers in the English football league system: Premier League, Championship, League One, and League Two.

There are seven rounds in the tournament to find out the best team that deserves the EFL Cup trophy. The higher rank the club is, the later round they have to enroll in. All the matches are played single-legged, despite the two-legged format used to be applied in the past on the semi-finals.

Only the first two rounds are divided into two sections: the North and South. Teams in each group will be drawn to determine which one will play with the other one.

Who won the most EFL Cup?

Liverpool is the most successful team in the EFL Cup history with eight times as the champion. Manchester City is currently ranking in second thanks to their achievement of seven EFL Cup titles.
