At the King Power Stadium, Fulham defeated Leicester 1-0 thanks to a goal from Aleksandar Mitrovic in the first half, moving up to seventh place in the Premier League. Following the restart of the Premier League, Leicester had lost two straight games while Fulham had picked up six points out of six entering the match. The first few minutes played out as expected, with the west Londoners dominating their opponents. Mitrovic scored the first goal in the 17th minute off of a superb lofted cross from Willian.

After a disastrous start, Leicester improved and controlled the game for the majority of the second half. However, they were unable to overcome the outstanding Bernd Leno, and as a result, they currently sit in 13th place, only three points above the relegation zone.

By winning six of their last seven games before the World Cup, Leicester gave the impression that they had totally recovered from their disastrous start to the season. However, the Foxes have now lost three straight Premier League games, thus ending their momentum. The loss of key midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall during warm-ups may have contributed to their slow start, and Brendan Rodgers undoubtedly could not believe his good fortune when Boubakary Soumare needed to be replaced less than 10 minutes into the game. By that point, though, Fulham had already missed two excellent opportunities through Willian and claimed a deserving lead when Mitrovic scored off an assist from the former Chelsea and Arsenal winger.

Fulham really provided very little else in terms of attacking, with Marco Silva's team apparently content to sit back and defend their advantage as Leicester got going. In the first half, the hosts' shooting was ineffective, but after the interval, they started to put Bernd Leno to the test. As Leicester started to take control, the goalkeeper stopped Harvey Barnes, Jamie Vardy, and Ayoze Perez. Youri Tielemans also tried his luck a few times and came very close to matching his spectacular goal against Everton earlier this season, but his rasping attempt bounced back off the crossbar.

The closest Leicester got to winning was when Harry Wilson burst through for Fulham in the dying moments, but the replacement could only scuff his shot wide of the near post. The only drawback for Fulham was a late booking for Mitrovic, who will now miss next Thursday's match against rival Chelsea due to suspension. Mitrovic has 11 Premier League goals this season.
