Who votes in The Best FIFA Football Awards?

The Best FIFA Football Awards are voted on by media representatives, national team coaches, national team captains, and the general public. All of these groups are given the opportunity to vote in each category of the awards, which narrows the list of nominees down to three finalists. The general public had until February 3rd to cast their votes.

How did the voting work?

The 2022 FIFA FIFPRO World 11 was determined by professional football players from around the globe. FIFPRO and associated player unions provided exclusive links that allowed players to access a digital voting platform.

Footballers selected three players whom they believed were the most exceptional in each of the following positions: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward.
The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards with the most votes in their respective positions made it into the World 11. The 11th spot was given to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.

Players had the freedom to select any of their peers. While the voting tool contained a suggested list, players were permitted to add other names that were not mentioned on the list.
