The England Squad for Euro 2020

The current Three Lions do not lack huge names and they are still titans of major European clubs. More importantly, there's a balance that has come back to the national team after 55 years of playing in the Euro tournaments. Coach Gareth Southgate and the 26-man squad will try their best for the nation’s honor.

1. HOW IS THE ENGLAND SQUAD AT EURO 2020?

England's best performances at the Euro finals were a third-place finish in Italy in 1968 when only four teams contested, and a semi-final appearance in 1996 when they lost to Germany on penalties. That means the England team still hasn’t had any Euro Cup since its first season. They are trying to improve the squad’s quality as well as to win the highest title.

There are optimistic reasons for the 2021 line-up. The current Three Lions do not lack huge names and they are still titans of major European clubs. More importantly, there's a balance that has come back to the national team after 55 years of playing in the Euro tournaments. Coach Gareth Southgate and the 26-man squad will try their best for the nation’s honor.

Southgate's team defeated Croatia 1-0 in their first game of the Euro 2020 final tournament at Wembley Stadium on 13 June 2021. They drew with Scotland on 18 June. They've just won the final game with the Czech Republic on late evening 22nd (CET) to become the leading team in Group D entering the Round of 16.

He was named to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year in 2018–19, as well as the PFA Young Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year.

Sterling made his senior England debut in November 2012, following being capped by England youth teams at the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 levels.
