Finland national team’s manager
Coach: Markku Kanerva

Being in charge of the Finland national team since 2016, Kanerva is proudly leading his team to the UEFA Euro 2020 qualification for the first time in the history of this football team. He is a former defender in his senior playing career, mainly playing for HJK, where he became the assistant in 2001. He was also part of the Finland national team from 1986 to 1995. He scored a total of 32 goals within 334 matches.
Kanerva ended his playing career in 1998. His first club in which he was a full-time manager was FC Viikingit, playing in the third tier of Finnish football. He moved to the U21 squad of the Finland national team and was responsible for the team for five years with 12 winning matches. He was selected as the permanent manager for the Finland national team in late 2016 after being the assistant and caretaker of the team prior.

Goalkeeper
1. Jesse Joronen

Jesse is currently playing for Serie B club Brescia and in the squad of the Finland national team for Euro 2020 as a goalkeeper. He started his football career in a local club, then joined Fulham academy in 2009. One year later, Jesse made his first professional debut for this club and stayed with Fulham until 2017. During this period, he was also loaned on season-long deals to many other English clubs, including Maidenhead United, Cambridge United, Accrington Stanley, and Stevenage.
He moved to a Danish club in the 2017-18 season and helped the club to first place in the Danish Superliga by keeping their clean sheet. He kept choosing another Danish club Copenhagen to play in the next season. In 2019, it was announced that Jesse signed for Serie B club Brescia. He also made his first debut for the national team in 2013 and has made 14 international caps so far.
2. Lukas Hradecky

Lukas was born in a sports family, in which his father is a volleyball player and his two brothers are also professional players. He started playing football in TPK and TPS. He signed his first professional contract with the latter club but didn’t actually make any appearance as he was loaned to ÅIFK in that season of 2008.
From 2009 to 2015, he played for two Danish clubs to participate in the Danish Superliga and First Division, where he made a total of 160 appearances. He was the Danish Superliga Goalkeeper of the Year and Best Player of the Spring Season in 2013.
He started playing in the top-flight competition Bundesliga in 2015-16. Since then, Lukas has been awarded many honors, including Finnish Footballer of the Year in three consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018) and many others. He has also made 68 international caps for the national teams since 2010.
3. Anssi Jaakkola

Anssi is a goalkeeper for League Two club Bristol Rovers and the Finland national team. He has played in different clubs outside Finland, including England, Czech, or Scotland during his senior career, starting from TP-47 to Siena (a Serie A club), Slavia Prague, Kilmarnock, Ajax Cape Town, Reading, and currently Bristol Rovers since 2019.

This player has made almost 300 appearances in his senior career in plenty of clubs in and outside Finland. He made his first professional debut for Klubi-04, where he joined them 22 games in one season of the Ykkönen. Jukka then moved to HJK, Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, and many other clubs in Europe but until now, he hasn’t played for any club for more than three seasons. He was also part of the U17, U19, and U21 squads before playing for the senior men’s national team on 4 February 2009. He was awarded Finland U21 Player of the Year this year for his great performance.
5. Joona Toivio

Joona has also played for numerous clubs in different parts of Europe, but not really successful. His peak period was during the time playing for a Norwegian club Molde. He joined 131 matches with the club, including four seasons of Tippeligaen and one season of Eliteserien, scoring a total of 14 goals. They also won the Eliteserien in 2014 and Norwegian Cup in 2013 and 2014.
He has played for the current club since 2018 and scored seven goals in the Allsvenskan. He was the captain as well as a midfielder and defender for the U21 team of the national squad. Leo started his senior career at Klubi 04, where he had a good start with three goals in a single season. After that, he had other season-long deals with different clubs in and outside Finland. On 12 January 2020, he signed a 3.5-year contract with IF Elfsborg. Sauli Väisänen is the older brother of Leo Väisänen. They are both in the Finland squad for Euro 2020. Sauli was trained in numerous academy sides before making his first professional debut in the 2012-13 season for Pallohonka, where he made 35 appearances and scored five goals.
After that, he played for FC Honka, AIK, HIFK (on loan), and Serie A club S.P.A.L, and Serie B club Crotone (on loan). He scored a total of 13 goals in 163 matches. He was a part of the youth squad of the national team, where he was captained occasionally.
8. Paulus Arajuuri

Daniel started playing football very soon, at the age of five in the academy club RiNS. He spent the next years of his youth career in Honkia, HJK, and Metz before making his first professional debut for Klubi 04 in 2011. He joined Metz B in three seasons between 2011 to 2014.
He played for two English clubs in the Championship and League Two competitions. On 2 January 2018, Daniel returned to HJK, but in their senior side. He has played for them in four consecutive seasons of the Veikkausliiga, the highest tier of the Finnish football system, where he made nine goals in 92 appearances. This defender also joined almost all youth levels of the national squad (from U15 to U21 without U19). He was called up for the national team in 2016 but hasn’t scored any international goal.
10. Jere Uronen

Jere Uronen is playing as a full back for the Belgian club Genk and the Finland national team. He started his senior career at the age of 17 in TPS. He made 22 appearances with the club and scored once in the Veikkausliiga. Jere moved to Helsingborg to play in four seasons of the Allsvenskan from 2012 to 2015.
In the beginning of 2016, he was transferred to Genk and played in the Belgian First Division A. He has participated in 167 games and scored five goals for Genk. They also won the 2018-19 Belgian First Division A and the 2020-21 Belgian Cup. Jere also played for the national team, from the youth levels to the senior squad in 2012. He scored once in a friendly against Belarus.
11. Nikolai Alho

Nikolai spent his youth career in Konka and Klubi-04. He was in the reserves team of the latter club but then was promoted to the senior first team in 2009. He scored 13 goals for Klubi 04 from 2009 to 2012. After that, he moved to HJK in 2012 but made his first debut for this club on 13 June 2013 in a 6-0 win (in which he scored twice) over FC Inter.
Nikolai returned to HJK after one year of playing for Halmstads BK. He was a successful right-back for HJK during this team and scored the other five goals in the next three seasons. He was transferred to the Hungarian club MTK Budapest in the winter transfer window in 2021. Nikolai also joined all the youth squads of the national team from U15 to U21. On 24 January 2014, he made his first international debut for the senior national team in a friendly against Oman.
12. Robert Ivanov

Robert Ivanov is a defender with a humble seven-year career. He started playing football for a local club FC Myllypuro in 2014. The next year, he moved to East Helsinki to play for FC Viikingit. In the period of 2016 to 2020, he played for FC Honka, in which he made 113 matches with the club and scored a total of 13 goals. He and his teammates were in the Veikkausliiga Team of the Month for July and September 2018.
On 1 September 2020, he was transferred to a Polish club Warta Poznan on a two-year contract. Robert was also selected for the national team in 2019 and made his first international debut on 8 January 2019 as a substitute for Albin Granlund in the 85th minute of a friendly against Sweden.
