Liverpool have officially named their squad for the upcoming Champions League campaign.

Arne Slot, who has made an impressive start to the Premier League season, is set to lead the Reds in Europe for the first time. The Dutchman has little reason to make drastic changes as he seeks success in his debut season at Anfield.

While the squad is mostly as expected, there are a few noticeable absences. Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, and Harvey Elliott have not been included on Liverpool's A-list. However, this is no cause for concern, as the trio will be registered on the B-list, allowing them to participate without counting toward the restrictions on the A-list.

The A-list can include up to 25 players, with eight spots reserved for 'locally trained players,' half of whom must be 'club-trained.' In contrast, the B-list is unlimited, provided the players meet certain criteria.

According to UEFA regulations, players are eligible for the B-list if they were born on or after January 1, 2003, and have been registered with the club for two consecutive years since their 15th birthday or three years with a one-year loan allowance to a club from the same association. Players can be added to the B-list up until 24:00 CET the day before a match.

Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.

Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming Champions League campaign includes key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz, Wataru Endo, Cody Gakpo, Joe Gomez, and more, alongside new arrivals like Ryan Gravenberch and Dominic Szoboszlai. The squad also features young talents such as Thomas Hill, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Trey Nyoni.

In the league stage of the competition, Liverpool will face tough opponents including AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Girona, Lille, and PSV. To guarantee a spot in the last-16, they’ll need to finish in the top eight of a 36-team league.
