A few things about Crystal Palace
Origin
Crystal Palace is a professional English football club based in Selhurst, the Borough of Croydon, South London. The club was founded 115 years ago, on 10 September 1905 as a professional football club, but its amateur side was actually first established in 1861. The amateur Crystal Palace club was one of the founding members of the Football Association in 1863, but the professional club was rejected when trying to apply for the Football League. They then played in the Southern League instead and were quite successful in regional competitions.
The club is currently playing in Selhurst Park, which became their home venue in the 1924-25 season. Currently, the stadium can contain 26,309 seats and they are planning to develop it into a 40,000-capacity venue. Crystal Palace is also known as The Eagles, which are the main symbol featured in their badge. The current head coach of the club is Patrick Vieira, a French former player who used to play for top-flight clubs like Milan, Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Man City, and a professional football manager since 2016.
