Because of the new signing, Austrian striker Sasa Kalajdzic, expected to be sidelined for the majority of the season after suffering a knee ligament injury on his Premier League debut, a 1-0 victory over Southampton, and forward Raul Jimenez’s groin injury, Diego Costa appeared to be a temporary solution for the Wolves.
Speaking about Costa, Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Diego Costa to Wolves, and back to the Premier League.
"A serial winner with a wealth of experience at the highest level, Diego will bring something unique to our dressing room and on the pitch, and we look forward to his impact at Molineux and Compton this season."
The Spanish striker had been out of football since January after he left Atletico Mineiro. Wolves are Costa’s second Premier League club after his time with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where he scored 52 goals in 89 Premier League games and won two league titles. Prior to that, he won La Liga with Atletico Madrid and reached the Champions League final.
