History
Fulham Football Club is a professional club based in the city namesake, London, England. They were founded 142 years ago, in 1879 as St Andrews Cricket & Football Club. The club has played at Craven Cottage, a Fulham stadium since 1896, hence their nickname The Cottagers. Fulham are also called The Whites or The Lily Whites due to their home kit color which is white shirts and socks and black shorts.
Achievements
Fulham have spent 27 seasons in the top divisions of English football and became the champions of the second tier in 1948–49 and 2000–01. They also reached two major competitions’ finals, the FA Cup in the 1974-75 season and the 2009-10 Europa League, but ended up with second places in both tournaments. They lost to West Ham United in the FA Cup by a 2-0 loss and against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League, losing 2-1 after extra time.
In the recent season, Fulham played in the top-flight Premier League, but their finish in 18th position has pushed them back to the EFL Championship next year.
