The Reds have expressed interest in signing the English international during the upcoming summer, and there are clear reasons why they would want to do so. On Tuesday night, Mason Mount will probably play for Chelsea against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, leading to speculation from conspiracy theorists and body language experts.

Recently, the midfielder has been heavily linked with a transfer to Anfield, as the likelihood of him leaving Chelsea increases with each passing week. Mount's contract will expire in June of next year, and talks about a new long-term deal have stalled. Both parties seem to agree that a separation at the end of this season is likely and necessary.

BETIMATE has learned that Liverpool is eager to take advantage of this situation. They have admired the player for some time and were nearly successful in signing him when Michael Beale, the current Rangers manager and former Chelsea academy coach, was with the club. Klopp's anticipated significant summer rebuild makes Mount an ideal fit due to his age, experience, and skill set.

Why do Liverpool want Mount?

At the age of 24, Mount has established himself as one of the top midfield players in England and is widely celebrated for his performance. He possesses a youthful and energetic quality, excelling as a hard runner and presser while also being able to create and score goals. Mount has won the Chelsea Player of the Year award for two consecutive seasons, a feat that has not been accomplished since Eden Hazard.

An additional factor that makes Mount a valuable player, particularly for Liverpool, is his consistent presence on the pitch. In his six seasons as a professional, Mount has played an impressive number of games each year, including 39, 44, 53, 54, and 53 games. This season, he played 32 games before a groin injury kept him out of Chelsea's last four matches.

Given Liverpool's recent challenges with several midfield players, such as Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara, and Curtis Jones, Mount's regular presence on the pitch is particularly significant. Additionally, Mount's versatility as a player, with experience playing both as part of the attacking line and the midfield, makes him an ideal addition to a Klopp squad, even if Liverpool's most pressing need is for agile No.8s in a 4-3-3 system.

Any worries about Mount's performance?

Although Mount has been with Chelsea since he was six years old and played a crucial part in their Champions League triumph last year, his performance this season has been inconsistent, as it has been for many other players at Stamford Bridge and Anfield. The current Premier League table reflects Chelsea's underwhelming performance this season, with them sitting in 11th place and searching for their third manager of the campaign, following the departures of both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

Consequently, Chelsea supporters have heavily criticized Mount

Mount's struggle is evident, with only seven goal involvements this term, and just one since the start of the year, compared to his double figures for goals and assists in the previous Premier League season. Consequently, Chelsea supporters have heavily criticized Mount, and he is seen as a symbol of the club's decline, much like how Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are viewed by Liverpool fans. Despite his history with Chelsea, certain sections of the fanbase have never truly warmed to him, and many would be pleased to see him leave the club this summer. This could prove to be a loss for Chelsea but a gain for Liverpool.

A manager's dream

It is a fact that Mount is adored by managers, although this comes with a downside. He was highly regarded by Potter, Tuchel, and Lampard, and even Southgate, despite having a wealth of talented attacking midfielders to choose from, has picked Mount 36 times for England, deploying him in four out of five matches at the World Cup in Qatar.

Klopp also appreciates Mount's attributes, such as his tactical versatility, work ethic, and uncomplicated technical skills. To play for Klopp, one must have a comprehensive understanding of the game, work hard defensively, and have the confidence and ability to execute the final pass, all of which Mount excels at when he's at his best.

Although he is still attached to Chelsea, it is thought that a fresh challenge, a new manager, and a change of scenery could help him quickly regain his best form. As a result, Klopp may be the ideal choice. He has pledged that Liverpool will "definitely" invest in the transfer market, and he would love to see Mount and his England teammate, Jude Bellingham, in a new-look midfield at Anfield next season if possible.

Where else could Mount end up?

BETIMATE sources have reported that Liverpool FC has already had productive discussions regarding a potential transfer for Mount. They are willing and able to meet the player's salary demands. However, Manchester United is also interested in signing him, and there have been rumors of a reunion with Tuchel at Bayern Munich. Chelsea still holds significant influence over Mount's future, and it remains to be seen how the next manager, such as Julian Nagelsmann or Mauricio Pochettino, will approach building around him and whether this will impact Chelsea's stance on his contract.

At present, Chelsea is open to selling Mount but is cautious about losing him for free next summer. The rumored asking price of £70 million ($87m) seems optimistic. Meanwhile, Mount is set to face off against the team interested in signing him on Tuesday night, and he will likely receive a warm embrace from a particular German coach at the end of the match. Could he be headed to Anfield? It's certainly not out of the question.
