Barcelona fixtures 2021-22: A good start for Barca despite the departure of legend Messi
Pre-season and friendly
Barca had a great start by winning four out of five pre-season games. They won all the July matches against Gimnàstic, Girona, and VfB Stuttgart by a big difference (4-0 against Gimnàstic, 3-1 against Girona, and 3-0 against the German club VfB Stuttgart).
Barcelona also surpassed the top-flight Italian club Juventus in the 2021 Joan Gamper Trophy, gaining their 44th title in this competition. On the women's side of this cup, Barca also beat Juve with a surprising result, 6-0. The only losing match of Barca in the pre-season was an away-friendly game against Red Bull Salzburg.

In the 2021-22 season, Barca are joining four major football leagues and cups in the region as well as in European football. They started their first La Liga match in the middle of August 2021 and have completed three matches so far. As a top-flight club in Spanish football, Barcelona will be participating in the 2021-22 Copa del Rey from the round of 32 in early 2022.
By winning the previous season of the Copa del Rey, the club are also going to take part in the Supercopa de Espana, in the semi-finals round. With third place in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League, Ronald Koeman’s students qualify for the group stage of the 2021-22 UCL, which will be held on 14 September 2021.
Barca have been at the top of all these competitions. They are currently the most successful club of the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana with the most titles, the second-most title holder of the prestigious Spanish league La Liga, after Real Madrid, and ranking fifth in the all-time UEFA Champions League title record table.
Barcelona La Liga 2021-22 fixtures
Barcelona have finished their first three matches in the 2021-22 La Liga. It seems that with the departure of legend Messi after 17 years of sticking with this club, they still have a stable competitive manner, at least in the first stage of the season.
They are currently standing fourth and share the same point (seven) with the top three clubs, but have a lower goal difference. Barca won two out of three matches. They had a wonderful beginning with a 4-2 win against Real Sociedad on 15 August and a 2-1 win against Getafe on 29 August. It was actually a draw between Athletic Club and Barcelona in Barca’s second match.

Inigo Martinez from Athletic scored the opening goal in the 50th minute and Memphis Depay from Barcelona equalized with a goal 25 minutes later. There was no more goal scored in the rest time of the match, but the new-signing Blaugrana defender, Eric Garcia, got a red card in the extra time of the match, causing an unfortunate loss to Barca and a ban to Eric in the next match.
