[Premier League Prediction] Nottingham vs Leicester Prediction: Nottingham Forest returns to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when fellow 17-pointers Leicester City visit the City Ground, fresh off securing their spot in the EFL Cup semifinals.

Nottingham vs Leicester Prediction: Unstable form of both teams

On the same number of points going into their Premier League matchup on Saturday are Nottingham Forest and Leicester City. A victory this weekend would be crucial for either team as both are in the running for the bottom spot this season.

Nottingham form

Inadequate preparation for an EFL Cup quarterfinal matchup against a Wolves club coached by Julen Lopetegui, who proudly arrived in England with a Europa League winners medal in his bag, included a 4-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Blackpool.

However, after former Wolves player Willy Boly scored the game's first goal against his former employers and Raul Jimenez answered, Dean Henderson saved the Tricky Trees from facing Manchester United in the semifinals by denying Ruben Neves and Joe Hodge from scoring from the 12-yard line.

Nottingham form

As they return to the top-flight basement struggle, Steve Cooper's team has had little time to enjoy their cup triumphs, but a 1-0 victory over Southampton last Wednesday thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi's game-winning goal placed Nottingham Forest a little further away from the danger zone.

Three wins, a draw, and two losses from six post-World Cup games undoubtedly indicate a minor reversal in fortunes for the Tricky Trees, who begin the weekend's games in 15th position in the standings with 17 points, two ahead of Everton in the relegation zone.

Leicester form

As a result of Leicester's disappointing quarterfinal loss to Newcastle on Tuesday at St James' Park, what would have been an EFL Cup final between Forest and Leicester will now only be played at the City Ground on Saturday.

Dan Burn finally broke the score after an hour of play, and Joelinton sealed the victory 18 minutes from time to send Leicester, who had defeated Gillingham 1-0 in the FA Cup three days earlier, back to the King Power bemoaning what could have been.

Leicester's form

Leicester now seeks to halt a miserable three-game losing streak in the Premier League, which puts the Foxes dancing with the devil in 13th place, just two points ahead of the finish line. This is before making the trip to Walsall in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The only time in the Foxes' last nine Premier League games that both teams scored—and even then, Wout Faes had to do the Reds' dirty work for them—was in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool on December 30. However, away supporters can find solace in the fact that Rodgers' team has impressively scored in each of their last 15 away games in the top flight.

Nottingham vs Leicester H2H Stats

The most recent home league game between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City took place in February 2014. A 2-2 tie was the score at the game's finish. In their previous 17 home games against Leicester City, Nottingham Forest has only lost one, won 11, and tied five.

Nottingham vs Leicester H2H Stats

Leicester City is attempting to achieve their first league double against Nottingham Forest since the 1971–72 season after defeating them in the league during the first half of the year. Against Forest, Leicester City failed to score its first away goal in the Premier League. This season, Nottingham Forest has failed to win two straight Premier League games.

Nottingham vs Leicester Betting Tips

Draw

We expect a draw in this weekend's game since the two teams are so evenly matched and neither is in great shape. Though the Foxes did secure a huge 4-0 victory in the teams' league rematch back in October, three of the past six meetings between these two clubs have ended all square. In their most recent five games in all competitions, Forest has only managed to win once, with the other two games ending in draws. Leicester has also only managed to win once in their most recent five games, with the other four games ending in losses.

Both Teams to Score

Given that four of the past six meetings between Forest and Leicester have finished in a scoreless draw, there is a significant likelihood that both clubs will score on Saturday. In four of Nottingham Forest's previous six league and cup games, both teams have scored, whereas Leicester has only managed one clean sheet in their last five games, supporting our forecast.

Nottingham vs Leicester Best Tips From Betimate

  • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Leicester City

While Leicester has little trouble finding the back of the goal when playing against their opponents, trying to contain a revitalized Forest team with a weakened defense and midfield is unlikely to be successful.

Nottingham vs Leicester Best Tips From Betimate

The midweek tiredness that both teams will be dealing with might make the positive atmosphere at the City Ground a little less effective than it normally would be. As a result, we anticipate that both teams will split the points and stay equal in the standings.
