[La Liga Prediction] Real Madrid vs Valencia Prediction: When Valencia visits the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday night without a manager, La Liga champion Real Madrid will be hoping to get back to winning.

Real Madrid vs Valencia Prediction: A difficult game for the Champions

Los Blancos are one of just two Spanish top-flight teams that have not yet suffered a home loss this year, while Los Che have only managed one victory in their eight league away games.

Real Madrid Form

After losing four of their past seven matches in the top division, Real Madrid has taken a significant hit in their bid to win back the La Liga championship. Los Blancos' first league match of 2023 ended in a 2-1 loss on the road to Villarreal. That was followed by a straightforward 2-0 triumph over Athletic Bilbao, but last weekend Los Blancos had to settle for a scoreless draw at home against Real Sociedad. Currently behind league leaders Barcelona by five points, Carlo Ancelotti's team might find themselves eight points behind the Catalan giants by the time they take the field on Thursday if they defeat Real Betis on Wednesday.

Real Madrid Form

Real Madrid cannot afford to lose any more games in the second half of the season, but Ancelotti and company are sure they can turn things around by defeating a faltering Valencia team. Los Blancos defeated Los Che earlier this month, however it was on penalties, winning 4-3 in the Spanish Super Cup semifinals after a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes. The previous time Valencia visited Real Madrid, in March 2008, they were defeated 3-2 thanks to a brace from David Villa. Since then, the 35-time La Liga winners have won 11 and tied five of their encounters with Valencia at the Bernabeu.

Valencia Form

Valencia announced on Monday that head coach Gennaro Gattuso has left the club by mutual consent after only seven months in charge at the Mestalla. The 45-year-old has left the club after only 22 games in command, which is six fewer than Gary Neville's brief tenure in 2016 and less than half as many as his predecessor Jose Bordalas. Gattuso lost three of his last four league games, including Sunday's 1-0 away loss to Real Valladolid, a game in which Cyle Larin scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute. Valencia ultimately made the decision to part ways with Gattuso after the Italian won only two games out of eight across all competitions since the World Cup break.

Valencia form

Valencia has had a difficult season overall, but their performance away from home in particular has been a huge worry for nearly a year because they have only won three of their previous 16 away games dating back to March 2022. For the seventh time in his career, Voro Gonzalez has been named temporary manager. The 59-year-old is charged with leading Valencia to an unexpected victory over Real Madrid, a team they have only defeated twice in their previous 13 meetings across all competitions.

Real Madrid vs Valencia Tips

Real Madrid will win with a (-1) handicap

Valencia fell to Real Valladolid this past weekend, so they aren't exactly in a better frame of mind than Real Madrid, who come into this game off a draw with Real Sociedad. Overall, Real Madrid has performed far better than the Bats this season.

We anticipate Real Madrid to win by two or more goals and cut the gap on Barcelona in the title race because they are a much better squad than Valencia and are hosting this game.

Over 2.5 goals overall

There has been more than 2.5 goals scored in three of Real Madrid's last five matches against Valencia, and we don't see any reason why it won't happen on Thursday.

Real Madrid has also scored an average of three goals per game in La Liga thus far, the highest average of any team. Valencia, meanwhile, led the league with 2.56 goals per game this year.

Real Madrid 2-0 Valencia

Real Madrid is now in the midst of a minor slump and has fallen behind Barcelona in the league standings. In their tie with Real Sociedad, Los Blancos shown brief glimpses of brilliance; nonetheless, they must perform at their peak in this match.
