Barcelona begins work on the specifics of the Camp Nou construction

For the "new" Camp Nou, everything keeps moving forward as planned. The Barça entity will start the final refurbishment work in January while waiting for the Estadi to start the final remodeling work in the summer.

The Camp Nou has already started its initial, more important refurbishment projects dating back to 1957. The FC Barcelona organization has already said that it will temporarily relocate from the Museu of the Barcelona stadium to the current Palau of Gel, forcing a number of alterations in the new facility.

Camp Nou Stadium

Although it is unsure of the exact location because it is looking for formulae in addition to the Barcelona City Council and the district of Them Corts, these works "involve the transfer of the current track of ice," as it has told the Barça. The Barcelona club has been informed that "the refurbishment of the building requires the installation of a temporary walkway" and that "it expects that it will be accessible in the next few.

These works have already begun, according to Joan Laporta's directive. After renovating "all of the space that currently occupies the track of ice and its ancillary zones, as well as changing rooms and also the façade, where we will build additional accesses," the Barça intends to unveil this new emplazamiento of the Museu in the summer of 2023. 

Palau Blaugrana

Similar to the club's offices, the renovation of the Palau of Gel, a structure connected to the Palau Blaugrana that was also opened in 1971, won't have much of an impact. The Camp Nou's works will be completed this summer, and the Barça's plan is for the Museu to operate alongside it.The club also kept in mind that the museum is more than just "an installation of great historical importance."

It will allow "one of temporary usage that will occupy 2.400 square meters and be divided into distinct zones" to improve the visitor experience. The Barça plans to use this temporary museum as "a pilot proof for the implantation of the most cutting-edge technology and activities" that will be implemented afterwards in the Camp Nou.

The decision to improve Camp Nou comes while Barcelona is still struggling with money. The financial report for the 2020/21 season shows that Barca suffered a loss of 481 million euros. The Catalan team has tried to convince the players to reduce their salaries in the past, along with the liquidation of many stars, but it has not been effective.

Before that, Barca also made moves to bring in Nou Camp to "make money." According to El Chiringuito, Barcelona fans can pay to buy the right to play at the famous football stadium for a certain period of time. The benefit received will allow matches to last 60 minutes, charging £255 per person entering the Nou Camp to play.

The name of Barcelona changed to Spotify Camp Nou

Not to mention, Barca signed a 3-year contract with music streaming platform Spotify, worth 280 million euros. In return, Barca's home ground will change to "Spotify Camp Nou" from next season. Besides, opening tours, renting out wedding services, and taking advantage of the space in the yard to make a profit.
