Arsenal is close to own the World Cup runner-up

According to reports, Arsenal is in the lead in the competition to sign France midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, and they may be able to do it for nothing when this player becomes a free agent or will own him for a low price.

Rabiot’s form

In N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba's absence, Rabiot started five of France's seven World Cup games, scoring the tournament's first goal against Australia. Throughout the match, his box-to-box skills were crucial for Didier Deschamps' team.

With his outstanding performances in the 2022 World Cup, many European teams are now interested in the Juventus midfielder, especially given his precarious contract status. The Italian club and Rabiot are in negotiations over a new contract, as his current one expires in the summer.

Rabiot had an outstanding performance

Despite speaking with the player's mother and agent, Veronique, Bianconeri believes it will be "very hard" to persuade Rabiot to extend his contract, according to the Italian publication Calciomercato. As a result, clubs are circling for the France midfielder, who could leave in January or the summer.

Arsenal is interested in Rabiot’s transfer

According to Calciomercatoweb, Rabiot is desired by "several clubs" in the Premier League, but Arsenal is "far ahead" of most of them.

Arsenal are playing prominently, leading the Premier League table with an irreplaceable central midfield pairing of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey. However, the Gunners would lack depth in the midfield if any or both players were to sustain an injury. Last season, Arsenal was out of breath at the end of the season when the main team suffered too many injuries, thereby losing the ticket to the Champions League. Coach Mikel Arteta certainly won't let that situation repeat itself again this season. Therefore, Rabiot, who was recently referred to as "world-class" by former Juventus great David Trezeguet, could be the perfect acquisition.

Coach Mikel Arteta has just worked with Arsenal officials to develop a plan to buy Adrien Rabiot in January. Previously, the French player negotiated with MU in the summer of 2022, but the high salary he demanded caused the deal to fall apart. Adrien Rabiot is said to be ready to leave Juventus to come to England to play football. After MU, Arsenal jumped into the race for the former PSG star. Owning Rabiot will be a necessary improvement for the midfield in protecting the achievement of standing in first place in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta wants to own Rabiot

Rabiot's contract with Juventus has half a year left, so his transfer fee is only about 10 million euros. According to the Mirror, Arsenal are in talks with Adrien Rabiot to make a move in January. The salary issue is being discussed by both sides. Rabiot wants to receive £200,000 a week, but Arsenal only want to offer him a salary of £120,000 a week. The two sides are still negotiating, and if the salary is approved, Rabiot will sign a three-and-a-half year contract with the London team.

In addition to Rabiot, Arsenal is also paying attention to Alexis MacAllister, who is playing prominently in Brighton and becoming an interesting discovery for Argentina in the 2022 World Cup.
