Inter vs Juventus Highlights

Both clubs had secured their place in the quarter-finals of European competition, but the early stages of the game showed that it was an important match in the SA calendar, with no room for complacency. Nicolò Barella scored two excellent goals in the first 18 minutes, one from long range and the other after a great combination with Romelu Lukaku, but Wojciech Szczęsny made two good saves to deny him. However, André Onana couldn't stop Filip Kostić's powerful strike from finding the bottom corner 27 minutes into the game, following his two assists in the previous match.

After the first goal, the atmosphere in the stadium became more intense, but Juventus struggled to create clear-cut chances in attack and were guilty of overplaying in and around the penalty area a few times. Matteo Darmian beat Dušan Vlahović to a loose ball from a cross by Nicolò Fagioli, denying the Serbian forward a good opportunity to score. Juventus continued to defend strongly in the second half, with Manuel Locatelli and Federico Gatti making important interventions to prevent Inter from scoring.

Despite losing Federico Chiesa to injury after he came on as a substitute, Juventus secured their 10th win in their last 12 matches across all competitions, closing the gap to the top four to seven points, with the possibility of having their 15-point deduction overturned. Meanwhile, Inter have won only one of their last five matches and remain in third place. The match ended in a heated atmosphere, with Danilo D'Ambrosio and Leandro Paredes both receiving red cards.

Inter vs Juventus Summary

Juve has only lost to Roma in its last 11 games. Nonetheless, Juventus' record versus Inter is also in their favor. Since 2017, Inter has only defeated Juve once in 90 minutes; that victory came in Serie A at the start of 2021, when coach Antonio Conte's Inter defeated Juve by a score of 2-0.

Juventus is therefore fully assured as it marches to the Meazza stadium of Inter. It was challenging for Inter to deploy the assault because of the visitors' calculated but cautious entrance into the match. In the 23rd minute, Juventus scored the game's first goal.

Adrien Rabiot led the ball up and off the wall with Dusan Vlahovic after receiving a feed from captain Danilo before making a fast pass to the left where Kostic was unmarked. Goalkeeper Andre Onana was defeated by the Serbian winger after he skillfully finished into the far corner.

Inter had to up the team in order to find an equalizer after being forced to lose first. But, prior to Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez was unable to "strike" in front of the Juventus defense, and Inter lacked a finishing phase that would have made things challenging for the opposition.

Juventus vigorously and solidly controlled the ball in the second half. Inter also makes an effort to apply more pressure and have more scoring opportunities. Nonetheless, this round's outcome remained unchanged. Inter had only 10 players on the field at 90+7 minutes when D'Ambrosio was sent off and forced to depart.

Inter conceded second place to Lazio after losing the game 1-0 and accepted a slide to third place in the Serie A standings with 50 points. With 41 points, Juventus was ranked seventh at the time.
