Pele: 'I'm strong with a lot of hope'

The 82-year-old legend was hospitalized on November 30 because of "swelling of the whole body" and "heart failure". Pele had a colon tumor removed in September 2021. Since then, he has often had to go in and out of the hospital to receive basic treatment and monitor his post-operative health.

3 days ago, Pele posted an image of his face being lit up by a building in Qatar with the message "Get well soon." He shared:

"Friends, I am at the hospital for my monthly visit. It's always nice to receive positive messages like this. Thank to Qatar for this tribute and  to everyonewho sends me good vibes".

A brief statement from the Albert Einstein hospital also stated that "the former player has complete control of vital functions." However, the current situation shows the opposite.

On December 3, Brazilian media confirmed that the body of the "Soccer King" no longer reacts to chemotherapy. Pele was transferred to "end-of-life hospital care" by the hospital. Currently, Pele is being treated by a doctor at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo in the intensive care unit. His body no longer responded to chemotherapy in his fight against colon cancer in the right part of his abdomen.

"Hospice care" means Pele doesn't have to undergo invasive tests or treatments. This regimen is intended for patients with potentially life-threatening illnesses or conditions. Medical experts say that going to chemotherapy has not yielded the results they had hoped for. Therefore, Pele's health has undergone many bad changes in recent times.
