Jurgen Klopp Candidly Expresses True Feelings after James Milner Addresses Liverpool Row

Jurgen Klopp has openly revealed his enjoyment in listening to James Milner's recent podcast appearance, despite the former Liverpool player disclosing details about a dressing room altercation.

During an interview on The High Performance Podcast with Jake Humphrey, the 37-year-old veteran midfielder discussed various aspects of his illustrious football career. However, it was his account of a disagreement with Klopp that generated the most attention from their conversation.

During his eight-year tenure at Anfield, James Milner experienced success under Jurgen Klopp, winning both the Premier League and the Champions League. While highlighting his overall positive relationship with the German manager, Milner also shared a specific incident regarding his unsuccessful attempts to communicate with Klopp during half-time of a match.

Milner said: “He was pretty good, he was open. Not so at half time; we had one moment where he was sharing his thoughts and I was sharing mine and I remember him smashing his hands on down the table and shouting, ‘Will you shut the f**k up!’ But Jurgen was brilliant, we had a great relationship and we were great off the pitch.”

Instead of reacting angrily to James Milner's revelations about life behind the scenes at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp responded to the interview in a positive manner, expressing his enjoyment in listening to it.

“James Milner had I think a podcast, had a bit of an insight [about] things that happened in the dressing room,” Klopp told supporters who were in attendance at Anfield for a test event in the renovated Anfield Road end on Monday night.

“I was listening to it and actually one of my dreams came true – one of my former players talking about our common past. I couldn’t wipe my smile, that’s exactly what happened. So many great things happened here in the last few years and this team is set up for great things in the future.”

Following his departure from Liverpool as a free agent, James Milner joined Brighton in the summer. Despite Jurgen Klopp's desire to retain him at Anfield, Milner made the decision to leave after making 332 appearances for the club. He subsequently joined the Seagulls, embarking on a new chapter in his career.
