Napoli Decide on Alejandro Garnacho Transfer After Man Utd Talks

Napoli have reportedly shifted their focus elsewhere after their bid for Alejandro Garnacho was rejected, though Chelsea could still offer the Argentine an escape route from Manchester United.

United are said to be open to offers for their entire squad, including academy graduates like Garnacho. The winger, who joined United from Atletico Madrid’s academy at 16 and made his senior debut less than two years later, reached his 100th appearance for the club earlier this season.

However, Garnacho's place in Ruben Amorim's side has been inconsistent, with doubts over how well he fits the manager's system. This has sparked interest from several clubs, both domestic and abroad, though Napoli’s £40 million bid fell short of United’s valuation.

Chelsea have now entered the fray, with reports indicating that the London club sees Garnacho as a potential January signing. The Blues are reportedly seeking reinforcements as they prepare for the potential departure of Christopher Nkunku, with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi also on their radar, according to L’Equipe.

Napoli’s situation appears more urgent, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to join Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Antonio Conte is eager to replace the Georgian's goal contributions quickly. According to the Manchester Evening News, Napoli are considering alternative targets like Dan Ndoye and Yeremay Hernandez, with Adeyemi also emerging as a potential option.

Speaking ahead of Manchester United's upcoming match against Brighton, head coach Ruben Amorim issued a clear message to his squad.

"I want to keep my players; I'm focused on these players," Amorim said. "I don't know what is going to happen in this window, we'll see. But they are our players, so we have control over that. We make the decisions. Sometimes it's harder for the players because they have some information, and you can sense it in every team—it’s part of the game."

Addressing the team's preparation for the clash, he added: "For me, it's always harder to prepare for a game after a loss. When we win, we can manage everything—expectations, the frustrations of certain players. We'll approach this game with the same mindset as always and focus solely on the task at hand."
