He tore an anterior cruciate ligament almost a year ago and is getting ready to put his injured knee to the test again. Talanoa doesn’t expect to be 100% ready when the training camp opens, but he’s hopeful that he’ll be up and running by the time the season opener comes along.

The reigning Super Bowl champions have their mandatory minicamp set to take place between June 11 and 13. However, earlier OTA practice sessions that were held the week before this ended abruptly when defensive lineman BJ Thompson suffered a seizure, followed by cardiac arrest. The player is now reported to be stable but this scare cast a shadow over their last offseason training activity before the minicamp.

Joe was missing from the team’s early training sessions but head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that it was simply a rest day for their star player. The QB has already confirmed that he’s got a new approach to staying fit and it seems certain that the franchise’s success will largely depend on him being able to do this.
