WHAT IS THE AUSTRIA 2. LIGA?

The Austria 2. Liga is another name of the Austrian Football Second League. This is the second-highest professional division in the Austrian football league system. From 2002 to 2018, it was formerly called the First League (Erste Liga). Currently, the Austria 2. Liga is also known as HPYBET 2. Liga due to its sponsorships reasons. 

The competition features 16 teams. The champion of the league has a chance to join the Austrian Bundesliga (First Division) according to the promotion rule of the league. Whereas, the three last-placed teams are directly relegated into the Austrian Regionalliga (Regional Leagues)

As of the 2nd May 2021, Fabian Schubert is the best player of the 2. Liga. The talented attacker from BW Linz has contributed 31 goals in 25 matches played in the league. This is also his greatest achievement ever.
