"Kimmich Dived" - Ancelotti Hits Back at Bayern Complaints

Carlo Ancelotti dismissed Bayern Munich's complaints regarding their disallowed goal, asserting that Joshua Kimmich "simulated" a foul, thereby depriving Nacho of a potential earlier goal.

Ancelotti's team faced adversity after Alphonso Davies scored a stunning goal in the second half, putting Bayern in the lead. Yet, Real Madrid staged another incredible comeback, with Joselu becoming the hero by netting two quick goals in the dying moments of the match.

The visitors came close to forcing extra time when Matthijs de Ligt scored in the 13th minute of added time. However, their hopes were dashed as the goal was disallowed due to a contentious offside decision during the buildup. Despite the tight call, the linesman flagged for offside, prompting the referee to blow the whistle immediately. The Real Madrid players halted their play, while De Ligt's shot found the net, leaving goalkeeper Andriy Lunin also reacting to the whistle.

Both De Ligt and his manager, Thomas Tuchel, expressed frustration after the match over the contentious refereeing decision. However, Ancelotti pointed out that Real Madrid had also faced a questionable call during the game. Following Davies' goal, Madrid believed they had equalized when Nacho redirected Federico Valverde's shot into the net.

The goal was disallowed after a VAR review, citing a push by Nacho on Kimmich. Ancelotti, however, believed that Kimmich had exaggerated the contact and went down too easily.

In his post-match comments, Ancelotti brushed off Bayern's complaints, saying, "Bayern complained about the offside? Well, then we'll complain about Nacho's disallowed goal... because Kimmich dived.”

With Real Madrid already securing the La Liga title, they have little at stake in their remaining four league fixtures. Therefore, Ancelotti may opt to rotate his squad heavily against Granada on Saturday. Nonetheless, he might field his strongest lineup in the subsequent games to maintain momentum heading into the final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at Wembley.
