2022 Playoff Run of Steph Curry is still being celebrated

It was the fourth championship trophy won by the group that included Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Stephen Curry. After a few years in the wilderness, the Warriors were back in a major way, and they were now regarded as the league's top club. Even if it is a remarkable feat, it is even more remarkable when you consider the enormous talent Curry and his team had to contend with.

In the first round of the playoffs, Curry and the Warriors had to defeat Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, followed by Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, and, finally, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in the Finals. Even though each of these rivals is currently having a season worthy of the MVP, Curry and his Warriors nonetheless defeated them all. This is another another illustration of the Golden State Warriors' and their star player's unmatched talent. Curry was performing the best for the Warriors throughout the playoffs last season, despite a couple other players also having strong games. Curry solidly won his first championship after averaging 27.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists during the playoffs, and solidly earned his first Finals MVP trophy.

The club wouldn't have advanced to the Finals if Curry hadn't played as well as he did. They may have lost in the opening or second round, in reality. Curry is still the most crucial member of his squad even at the age of 34 and after many years playing in the league. He can compete with the best young players in the game and still prevail—this is a genuine testament to his talent.

An ESPN expert singles out Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry

Now that the New Year has arrived, it's time to think back on all that happened in 2022. The Golden State Warriors had a historic season, winning their fourth Larry O'Brien Trophy in eight seasons thanks to Stephen Curry's first Finals MVP award. Curry, though, didn't win the award, at least not in Kevin Pelton's opinion, senior writer for ESPN. Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks received Pelton's "Golden Ball" award for the year's best player. Pelton's standards, which take into account form in international competition, are the first problem. That's great during a World Cup or Olympic year, but not when there isn't any significant competition for countries outside of Europe.Along with Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Doncic, Curry is one of Pelton's five finalists. Curry elevated their historical legacy more than any other NBA player in 2022, according to Pelton, but that wasn't enough to defeat a player who didn't take home any big honors during the NBA regular season, playoffs, or even at Eurobasket.

The Mavericks' current heliocentric attack will provide Doncic individual stats and trophies but not the championship trophy, while Curry continues to play a team kind of basketball that leads to titles.
