Despite the potential departure of Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain, his presence in the starting lineup continues to make the team a formidable force. This was evident in their recent 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad, where Mbappé showcased his talent by scoring two exceptional goals. The triumph secured PSG's spot in the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in three seasons.

Reflecting on the match, Mbappé emphasized the importance of not underestimating their opponents and expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. PSG progressed to the next round with a convincing 4-1 aggregate score, with Mbappé contributing to the first-leg victory as well.

While reports suggest that Mbappé has informed PSG of his decision to leave the club after this season, speculation has mounted regarding a potential move to Real Madrid. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Mbappé's impact on the pitch remains significant for PSG as they continue to compete at the highest level.

Despite significant investments aimed at securing their first Champions League title, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has faced disappointment in recent years, being eliminated from the last 16 stage five times out of the last seven seasons, including the last two. However, they did reach the semi-finals in 2021 and were runners-up in 2020.

Regarding their recent victory over Sociedad, Mbappé expressed the team's desire to not only qualify but also win the match. He highlighted their clear game plan and early goal that helped them remain relatively untroubled throughout the game.

Although Mbappé had gone scoreless in his previous two appearances, resulting in draws against Rennes and AS Monaco, he played the full duration of Tuesday's match and reassured that there were no issues between himself and PSG coach, Luis Enrique. Despite rumors, both Mbappé and Luis Enrique explicitly denied any problems between them, with the coach stating that he had no issues with any player on the team.

The PSG coach lauded Mbappé's immense talent, stating that he has the ability to score 50 goals and provide 25 assists under any coach. He considers Mbappé to be the best player in the world when it comes to the final third, describing him as unstoppable. The coach also highlighted Mbappé's versatility, noting his capability to hold the ball when needed and then swiftly transition into attacking open spaces.

Mbappé's two goals against Sociedad propelled him to become the second-youngest player to reach 45 goals in Champions League group stage and knockout matches. At 25 years and 76 days old, Mbappé achieved this feat, with Lionel Messi being the only player to have accomplished it at a younger age, reaching the mark at 24 years and 257 days. Following his recent performance, Mbappé's Champions League goal tally now stands at 46.
