Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona appear to have turned a corner, reclaiming the form and dominance that has often defined their storied history. Renowned for nurturing talented youngsters, the club has continued to develop academy stars like Lamine Yamal and Gavi. At the same time, they’ve made significant investments in world-class talent, such as Robert Lewandowski, to bolster their squad.

This balanced blend of homegrown talent and marquee signings has given Barcelona a strong foundation as they aim to reclaim the La Liga title. Here’s a breakdown of the weekly wages for every player in their senior squad.

Goalkeepers

Marc-Andre ter Stegen earns far more than any other goalkeeper

As Barcelona's undisputed number-one goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen naturally earns more than any other goalkeeper in the squad, with a weekly salary exceeding €120,000. When fit, he is the clear choice to guard the net and is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

In his absence, however, Barcelona is well-covered with solid alternatives in Inaki Peña and Wojciech Szczesny. Peña, the second-highest-earning goalkeeper at the club, takes home just over €60,000 per week, while Szczesny, who recently came out of retirement to join Barcelona, earns €57,692 weekly. Finally, 20-year-old Ander Astralaga, who is far down the depth chart, earns €3,846 per week as the club's fourth-choice keeper.

Defenders

Five defender earn over €100,000-a-week

In defence, Jules Koundé stands out as the highest earner, with a weekly salary of over €250,000. Signed from Sevilla in 2022, Koundé became one of the most expensive centre-backs in history and has been a key figure for Barcelona this season. Inigo Martínez follows closely, earning €180,385 per week. Having played in all but one league game this season, Martínez is an important player, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign, he could be in line for a pay rise.

Andreas Christensen, the third-highest-paid defender, earns €173,077 per week, though he has been sidelined for the season due to an Achilles injury. Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia also earn over €100,000 weekly.

Pau Cubarsi and Clement Lenglet, both of whom signed new contracts recently, earn €76,923 and €38,462 per week, respectively. Alejandro Balde takes home just over €30,000 a week, while Hector Fort is the lowest-paid defender at the club, earning €16,154 weekly. Even so, his salary is still a solid amount.

Midfielders

Frenkie de Jong earns more than double any other midfielder

Barcelona fans have grown frustrated with Frenkie de Jong's recent underwhelming performances, especially given his €365,385 weekly salary. This makes him one of the highest-paid players at the club, nearly double what Pedri earns (€180,385), with Pedri being the second-highest-paid midfielder. In fact, Pedri is the last midfielder in the squad earning over €100,000 per week.

The midfield group is rounded out by three players from Barcelona's academy: Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, and Marc Bernal. All three signed new contracts in 2024 to secure their futures at the club. Lopez earns €76,923 per week, while Casado takes home €10,000, and Bernal earns €6,154 weekly.

Forwards

Robert Lewandowski is the club's highest earner

Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona have become one of the most exciting attacking teams in the world, with a talented roster of forwards. Robert Lewandowski, at 36, continues to defy age, scoring 15 league goals in just 14 matches this season. While his weekly wage of €640,962 may seem excessive, he's certainly justifying it with his on-field performances. Ansu Fati, once seen as the future of Barcelona, has faced setbacks, but still earns €268,269 a week.

Raphinha has stepped up his game since moving from Leeds to Spain and now earns just under €250,000 per week. Ferran Torres and new arrival Dani Olmo are both taking home close to €200,000 each week, rounding out the highest-paid forwards at the club.

Lamine Yamal, a rising star from Barcelona's academy, has been one of the biggest success stories since Messi's time. The young talent is one of the brightest prospects in world football, earning €31,115 a week, which is a bargain given his potential. Pau Victor and Pablo Torre complete the attacking ranks, with the duo earning €7,308 and €4,038 weekly, respectively.
