Every Real Madrid Player's Wage [2025]

Jude Bellingham is nowhere near the top earners.

Through some astute work in the transfer market over recent years, Real Madrid have assembled one of the most exciting young squads in world football. With stars like Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, and Thibaut Courtois in their ranks, few teams can match their talent and depth. However, such quality comes at a cost, and Madrid’s wage bill is among the heftiest in the sport.

Toni Kroos had been the club’s highest earner, but with his retirement at the end of the 2023/24 season, Madrid freed up a significant portion of their payroll. That space was quickly filled with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, who has taken La Liga by storm in his debut season. Meanwhile, speculation continues to swirl around a potential move for Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, which would further inflate Madrid’s growing wage structure.

But just how does Madrid’s current payroll stack up? And how does Mbappe’s massive salary compare to his teammates? Let’s take a closer look.

Goalkeepers

Thibaut Courtois leads the way

In goal, it’s no surprise that Thibaut Courtois is Real Madrid’s highest-paid goalkeeper by a significant margin. Since joining from Chelsea in 2018, the Belgian has been the undisputed No.1 whenever fit, and his weekly wage reflects that. Courtois earns £248,249 per week.

A long way behind him in terms of earnings, Andriy Lunin is the only other senior goalkeeper in the squad, taking home £46,505 per week. As Courtois’ backup, regular first-team opportunities have been limited, but he proved his worth last season by stepping up impressively during Courtois’ injury absence—so much so that he kept loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga out of the starting lineup.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold would be one of the highest-earning defenders

Like in goal, there's a clear standout when it comes to the highest-paid defenders at Real Madrid. David Alaba leads the way by a significant margin, earning £372,373 per week—over £100,000 more than any other defender in the squad.

Antonio Rüdiger and Éder Militão are level in second place, both taking home £234,139 per week. Meanwhile, full-backs Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy earn identical wages of £172,450 per week. Lucas Vázquez is the final defender earning a six-figure weekly salary, bringing in £155,238.

Rounding out the defensive lineup, Fran García earns £86,225 per week, Jesús Vallejo is on £28,914, and Raúl Asencio makes £13,493.

According to a report from The Sun, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, with a reported wage of £240,000 per week. This would make him the second-highest-paid defender at the club and the seventh-highest earner overall. As one of the world's top right-backs, Madrid appear more than willing to pay the price as they continue assembling one of the most formidable squads in football history.

Midfielders

Jude Bellingham is earning a fortune

Jude Bellingham has been performing like the best midfielder in the world since joining Real Madrid in 2023—and he's being paid accordingly. The English star earns £344,735 per week at the Santiago Bernabéu, making him the club’s highest-paid midfielder by a comfortable margin.

Federico Valverde comes in second, taking home £275,887 per week, while Aurélien Tchouaméni is also among the club’s top earners, receiving £206,874 weekly.

Rounding out the midfield ranks, Dani Ceballos and Luka Modrić are tied on £172,450 per week. The Croatian maestro, a Ballon d’Or winner in 2018, has enjoyed a legendary career at Madrid, but now in his late 30s, his role in the squad has diminished. With his minutes on the pitch decreasing, his salary has followed suit, reflecting the transition into the final stages of his illustrious career.

Forwards

Kylian Mbappe is Madrid's highest earner

Kylian Mbappe is by far the highest-paid player at Real Madrid, earning over half a million pounds per week. It’s a staggering figure that reflects how highly he is valued at the Santiago Bernabéu. So far, he’s been repaying that investment with 36 goal contributions in 44 appearances.

A significant way behind him in second place among the club’s forwards is Vinicius Jr., a leading Ballon d’Or contender, who earns just under £350,000 per week.

Rodrygo follows with a weekly wage of £206,874, while Brahim Díaz is the only other forward making over six figures, taking home £120,649 per week. Meanwhile, rising stars Arda Güler and Endrick complete the group, earning £83,566 and £66,845 per week, respectively.
