Carlo Ancelotti has already cemented his place among football’s managerial greats. The Real Madrid boss has conquered nearly every major competition and led some of Europe’s biggest clubs in the Champions League spotlight, including AC Milan and Chelsea.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Ancelotti is once again guiding Madrid in a relentless pursuit of silverware—firmly in the La Liga title race, battling for yet another Champions League crown, and preparing for a Copa del Rey final showdown against arch-rivals Barcelona. But just how many trophies has 'Don Carlo' lifted during his storied career? From domestic leagues to continental triumphs, Ancelotti has truly won it all.

Juventus

Given his glittering success at AC Milan, it’s easy to overlook the fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s first trophy as a manager came during his time at Juventus. After missing out on UEFA Cup qualification, the Bianconeri found themselves in the less prestigious Intertoto Cup—but with the star-studded squad at their disposal, the competition proved no real challenge.

In his first full season in Turin, Ancelotti guided Juve to the Intertoto title with a 4-2 win over Rennes. While he didn’t add any more silverware during his time at the club, his work was impressive enough to attract the attention of Milan, who would soon come calling to offer him the job that would define his early legacy.

Milan

Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival at AC Milan marked the beginning of one of the most successful eras in the club’s history. Under his leadership, the Rossoneri thrived both domestically and in Europe. His first season of major silverware came in 2002/03, when Milan lifted both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, followed by the UEFA Super Cup later that year.

Ancelotti continued to build on that success, winning the Italian Super Cup in 2004 and securing the only Serie A title of his managerial career the following season. But perhaps the most iconic moment of his Milan tenure came in 2007, when he guided the club to Champions League redemption against Liverpool—avenging the painful defeat in Istanbul two years earlier with a commanding win in the final.

That triumph earned him a second Champions League title with Milan, and was followed by victories in both the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, cementing his legacy at San Siro.

Chelsea

Following a glittering stint at Milan, Carlo Ancelotti made the switch to Chelsea, where he was tasked with bringing domestic dominance to Stamford Bridge, backed by significant financial support. His tenure in England delivered mixed results overall, but it included a memorable high point in the 2009/10 season when he guided the Blues to a historic Premier League and FA Cup double.

Those two trophies—along with the Community Shield—were the only major honours he captured during his time in west London. However, Ancelotti left a lasting impact on the squad and club culture, earning admiration from players and fans alike, with the likes of Joe Cole among those who praised his influence and man-management.

"Having worked with him, and seen it first hand, it is 90% pure wisdom. He does not try and overcomplicate things, rewrite the game, he just has this knack of motivating football teams, players and groups.

When he retires, maybe he will, you won’t find him doing these motivational, business-management courses where he’s telling people to do this and do that. He is just Carlo Ancelotti, Don Carlo, knows how to win games. A great guy and his name should be up there as [one of] the greatest managers of all time."

PSG

After a relatively brief spell at Chelsea, Carlo Ancelotti took the reins at Paris Saint-Germain, stepping into the heart of their ambitious, Qatari-backed project. With a wave of big-money and marquee signings flooding into the Parc des Princes, Ancelotti had to rely on his vast experience to manage a dressing room filled with star power and high expectations.

Despite his efforts, his time in the French capital—spanning from 2011 to 2013—yielded just one Ligue 1 title, and he was unable to guide the club to the elusive Champions League triumph they craved. By the summer of 2013, Real Madrid came knocking, and Ancelotti didn’t hesitate to ask PSG for permission to make the move—one they ultimately granted.

Real Madrid

While Carlo Ancelotti found success with league titles and Champions League triumphs during his spells at Milan and Chelsea, it’s at Real Madrid where he has truly cemented his legacy as one of football’s all-time great managers. His first stint at the Santiago Bernabéu brought immediate silverware, with Madrid claiming both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League during the 2013/14 season, followed by victories in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup later that year.

However, it’s his second spell in charge that has taken his status to even greater heights. Since returning, Ancelotti has added two La Liga titles, another Copa del Rey, two more Champions League crowns, and a host of Super Cup and Club World Cup trophies to his ever-growing collection. With ongoing speculation linking him to the Brazil national team job, it’s unclear how much longer he’ll remain in Madrid—but with Ancelotti, you can never rule out the possibility of even more silverware before his time is up.

"I couldn’t pick one trophy. It’s tough to choose, but La Decima was incredibly special for me and for Real Madrid. Since my return to the club, I’d go with the Champions League win in Paris, that was special too. If I had to choose, I’d say those two."

Bayern Munich

Given his remarkable success across Europe—particularly his iconic association with Real Madrid—it’s easy to overlook the fact that Carlo Ancelotti also had a stint in charge of Bayern Munich. The Italian succeeded Pep Guardiola ahead of the 2016/17 season, following the Spaniard’s move to Manchester City.

Despite his reputation and experience, Ancelotti's time at the Allianz Arena was short-lived. He lasted just over a year, with reports of dressing room unrest and growing concerns over his tactical decisions and team selections. Still, he managed to guide Bayern to the Bundesliga title in his only full season, though their Champions League journey ended in the quarter-finals at the hands of his future employers, Real Madrid.
