Michael Olise played only half of Crystal Palace's Premier League matches last season due to a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old English-born France Under-21 forward made 90 appearances for Crystal Palace across all competitions over three seasons.

Olise, who was signed by the Eagles from Reading for £8m in July 2021, has now committed to a five-year contract with Bayern.

Earlier this summer, Chelsea and Newcastle United showed interest in Olise, but he opted for a move to Germany to play under Bayern's new manager Vincent Kompany.

"I'm thrilled to be joining such a prestigious club - it's a great challenge and exactly what I wanted," Olise said.

"I aim to prove myself at this level and contribute to winning as many titles as possible in the coming years."

Olise netted 10 goals in 19 Premier League matches last season, helping Palace secure a 10th-place finish.

He has also been selected for the France squad for the Olympics, which start in Paris later this month.

"We are immensely proud of Michael's achievements at Crystal Palace, where he has grown significantly as a player," said Eagles chairman Steve Parish.

"We respect his wish to challenge himself further at the highest level of world football."

Bayern are also poised to finalize the signing of Fulham's Joao Palhinha in a deal worth £42m plus £4m in add-ons.

The 28-year-old Portugal midfielder almost joined Bayern last summer, but the deal fell through on deadline day.

Additionally, England defender Eric Dier has permanently joined Bayern after a loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur that began in January.

Bayern's 11-year dominance of the German title was ended by Bayer Leverkusen last season.
