Vinicius Junior has reportedly won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, according to a leaked list of results.

The winner of the 2024 Ballon d'Or will be officially announced in Paris on Monday night. For only the third time since 2007, the men's award will go to someone other than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, as neither of the aging superstars was shortlisted this year.

The announcement will take place during a glamorous awards ceremony set to begin around 7 PM (UK time). However, a list claiming to reveal the top 12 players based on voting points has gone viral on social media, suggesting that the results may have already been leaked.

According to this unconfirmed list, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is named the winner with 630 points, 54 points ahead of Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who ranks second. Jude Bellingham comes in third, while two other England stars make the top eight: Harry Kane in fifth and Phil Foden in eighth.

Kylian Mbappe is placed fourth, with Lamine Yamal seventh. The list continues with Dani Olmo, Florian Wirtz, Dani Carvajal, and Antonio Rudiger occupying the ninth to twelfth spots, respectively.

Surprisingly, Manchester City’s goal-scoring sensation Erling Haaland is listed sixth with 195 points. Haaland, who finished second behind Messi in 2023, scored 38 goals in 45 matches for City last season.

One Portuguese-speaking journalist who shared the list on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, "If this really is the leaked Ballon d'Or list, what explains Haaland being in sixth? Vini Jr. deserves to be the best in the world."

A list showing the top 12 players and how many voting points they have apparently received went viral via social media on the eve of Monday's announcement.
