FC Barcelona icon Lionel Messi has revealed Sergio Ramos is the player made him angriest across his career.

FC Barcelona icon Lionel Messi revealed on the YouTube channel "Listos a Todo" which fellow player provoked his strongest reactions during his illustrious career. Messi, who emerged from Barcelona's La Masia academy and played for the club's first team from 2004 until his departure in 2021, highlighted his intense rivalry with Real Madrid, particularly singling out Sergio Ramos as the player who often sparked his anger the most.

"With Sergio Ramos, I had a lot of fights. He was the player who made me angriest. Later, we became teammates, but during El Clásico matches, we were always grabbing each other. Those matches were intense," Messi explained.

Interestingly, Ramos is also the player Messi faced most frequently in his career, with 44 encounters between them. Despite their fierce rivalry on the pitch, both players later joined Paris Saint-Germain on free transfers in the summer of 2021, becoming teammates at the Qatar-backed Ligue 1 club.

In 2021, Messi celebrated a significant milestone in his career by clinching the Copa America title with his cherished Argentina, defeating Brazil at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

Following this triumph, Messi went on to experience the pinnacle of success in football with Argentina, securing the World Cup title in late 2022, a victory that some commentators suggested completed his football journey.

However, before achieving these triumphs, Messi endured considerable heartbreak in international competitions, including four major final losses with the Argentine national team. Surprisingly, Messi identified the 2011 Copa America in Uruguay as his most devastating elimination.

"I remember the 2011 Copa America in Santa Fe, where they insulted me in every possible way. It was a tough experience for me and the entire national team," Messi revealed.

Although Argentina redeemed themselves by winning the Copa America in Brazil, erasing the painful memories of the 2016 final loss to Chile on penalties, they have an opportunity to further solidify their legacy by winning the tournament once again in the United States this summer.
