Andrei Kanchelskis, a former Manchester United star, suffered a severe eye injury following an alleged assault in a Moscow bar. The incident occurred while he was watching the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain.

Reports indicate that Kanchelskis, 55, was involved in a physical altercation after exchanging insults with another patron. The altercation escalated into punches being thrown, resulting in Kanchelskis needing first aid from bar staff.

Although an ambulance was called, Kanchelskis did not require hospitalization. He has since provided updates on his condition, including sharing a photo of his swollen and bruised eye.

Andrei Kanchelskis posted a photo of his severe injury on Instagram.

Speaking to Russian outlet SE about the incident, Kanchelskis stated, "I’m fine now. It was a minor conflict over personal matters that arose after the Euro final. The conflict was not related to the football match."

Kanchelskis played for Manchester United for four years under Sir Alex Ferguson, scoring 36 goals in 161 appearances and winning two Premier League titles, the League Cup, and the FA Cup.

Speaking to MailOnline, Kanchelskis said: “I love Manchester United. In my heart it’s still the best club in Europe. Maybe I will come to the new Everton stadium in August, it depends on my future.

“Of course, I will go to Old Trafford and visit Sir Alex. I will bring him a present of black caviar, because he loves it.”

Andrei Kanchelskis won two Premier League titles with Man United.

Regarding Manchester United's recent struggles, Kanchelskis expressed frustration: “When I played for United, the dressing-room, the players were held together, but I don’t understand what’s happening at Manchester United now. I think there are some problems somewhere.

“If you see in the past, everybody was working for these titles: the people cleaning the kitchen, the director, the secretary, the players, the kit man.

"First of all Man Utd, it’s a big club and like a family. Some people playing for Man United now don’t remember what happened. There’s no family now, in my opinion.”
