Son Heung-min was named Tottenham club captain in August 2023.

The 32-year-old forward joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has since netted 169 goals in 431 appearances for the club.

In the Premier League alone, the South Korea international has amassed 125 goals and 68 assists in 320 matches.

"Brilliant," said Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou. "He's already had an outstanding career at this football club. He's been a key figure over the past decade, making a significant impact at both the club and in the Premier League. It's fantastic to extend his stay.

"Our ambition is to ensure he finishes his Tottenham career with some silverware."

Son was part of the Spurs squad that reached the club's first-ever Champions League final in 2019, where they were defeated by Liverpool. However, he is yet to claim a trophy with the club.

The announcement of his contract extension comes ahead of the first leg of Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Wednesday.

This season, Spurs are 12th in the Premier League, with Son contributing five goals and six assists in 17 league appearances.
