7 Best Over/Under Wagers to Make on the NFL Draft

There’s a great roster of players this year, and many teams are looking to shake up their lineups.  Many betting sites are already offering odds for wagers on the draft.

For instance, a BC game review shows that this gambling site is fair and offers odds that are favourable to small-time players.  In this article, we’ll focus on the over/under bets one can make on the draft.

Over/Under 4.5 Quarterbacks Drafted in Round 1

There are a few QBs that are sure to be drafted in Round 1.  For instance, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy.  However, Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr could be drafted in round 2.  It’s also important to note that there are mock drafts that put even J.J. McCarthy slipped to round 2.

The roster is strong, but the odds are under 4.5, as that’s the belief of the expert public.  History shows that five quarterbacks have been drafted in the first round only once before in 2021.  In 1983, six quarterbacks were drafted in round one, but that’s a completely different league from the one we have now.

Over/Under 0.5 Tight Ends Drafted in Round 1

There are many arguments to bet over on this one, as several teams are rumored to need a tight end early – first of all, the Miami Dolphins.  Offenses are also evolving, and more teams are looking for versatile tight ends to create mismatches.

However, no elite tight ends stand out, which may mean that the underbet could work as well.  Some may decide to wait for later rounds, as there’s a lot of depth down the list as well.  Only seven tight ends have been drafted in Round 1 since 2015.

Over/Under Draft Position for Cam Ward – 1.5

Simply put, this is a wager on whether Cam Ward will be the first pick of the draft or not.  The odds are that he will, and that’s the opinion of most experts in the field.  It’s, therefore, best to place an under bet as a one-side bet of the larger parlay wager.

There’s an argument to be made for an unlikely overbet as well, other than it being very profitable.  The draft could feature multiple first-round quarterbacks, thus pushing Ward to the number two spot.  Shedeur Sanders, Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers, and Jalen Milroe are all good choices for the number one spot.

Over/Under Draft Position for Travis Hunter – 4.5

Travis Hunter is a cornerback and wide receiver from the University of Colorado.  It’s a unique wager on our list so far, as there’s pretty much an equal chance for both outcomes.  NFL teams love elite CBs, and cornerbacks such as Jeff Okudah and Sauce Gardner have been drafted within the top four before.

However, Hunter also plays in an uncertain position as he is a wider receiver.  The draft will be focused on QBs this year, and some top teams may prioritize trenches as well, so there’s a chance Hunter may move down the list.

Over/Under 0.5 Defensive Linemen Drafted by Ravens With Their First Pick

To put it in simpler terms, this is essentially a wager on whether the Ravens will select a defensive lineman as their first pick.  Over 0.5 means they will, and under 0.5 means their first pick will be a player in another position.

The Ravens need a defensive lineman, as their defensive line needs new players.  However, the question is if the offensive line is more of a priority for the team.  The odds are in favour of the under bet.

Over/Under 0.5 Offensive Linemen Drafted by 49ers With First Pick

It’s the same wager but applied to the 49ers.  An overbeat means that the 49ers will choose a lineman, and under means they will go with another position first.  There’s a glaring need for a lineman for the 49ers, which is one side of the wager, and on the other, the draft will develop as it does regardless of what the 49ers need.

The argument for the underbet is that the 49ers will prioritise coverage over protection.  They also have a history of trading back and collecting Day 2 picks when they find value.

Over/Under 6.5 Wide Receivers Drafted in Round 1

 There are good arguments for both over- and under-options for this one.  There’s a lot of talent for the Wide Receive spot this year.  They include Luther Burden III (Mizzou), Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State), Evan Stewart (Oregon), Tez Johnson (Oregon), and Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona), and the buzz goes they’ll be early picks.

For the under option, some argue that the focus on QBs may push WRS down the list of priorities with most teams.  There are also injury risks for wide receivers to take into account, as it could move them to day 2.
