After just over six months as Chelsea's manager, Graham Potter has been fired from his position. He took over from Thomas Tuchel but was let go by the club following a 2-0 defeat by Aston Villa on their home turf, leaving the team in 11th place on the Premier League table. Despite the signings of Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix in January, Chelsea's situation did not improve under Potter, with only 12 wins in 31 matches since his appointment for £21.5 million ($26.3m) from Brighton. The club is now searching for a replacement for the 47-year-old, and Betimate explores the potential candidates for the role.

Julian Nagelsmann

Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed from his position at Bayern Munich, is a leading contender to take over as the manager of the Stamford Bridge team. The 35-year-old German coach is highly regarded in world football for his success at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig before joining Bayern in 2021. Thomas Tuchel replaced Nagelsmann at Bayern, and he is now the head coach at Chelsea, succeeding Antonio Conte. While Tottenham was rumored to be interested in Nagelsmann following Conte's departure, Chelsea may try to outmaneuver their London rivals to secure his services.

Mauricio Pochettino

As soon as pressure began mounting on Potter, the media started linking potential candidates for the job. Just like when Thomas Tuchel was sacked last year, one of the first names mentioned was Pochettino. Despite being out of work since his unsuccessful stint at Paris Saint-Germain ended in the summer, Chelsea may still consider him for the role. Nevertheless, they may have reservations due to his lackluster performance in Paris, and they could face strong competition from his previous team Tottenham, who are also searching for a new manager following the departure of Antonio Conte.

Zinedine Zidane

Since the conclusion of his second stint as Real Madrid's coach in 2021, Zidane has been difficult to obtain as PSG, France, and the United States have all pursued the three-time Champions League-winning coach. Despite this interest, he is present without a team. While Zidane and Potter share few similarities, appointing him as the coach of Chelsea would represent a significant change in direction for the ownership. However, Zizou's managerial career has been highly successful, and he has experience handling big egos, of which there are many at Stamford Bridge.

Luis Enrique

After resigning as the Spain national team coach following their elimination from the 2022 World Cup round of 16, likely, Luis Enrique will soon land a top managerial position. Although he is an ardent believer in footballing ideals, his ability to map out a course for Chelsea over the next few years may be hindered by recent player turnover. Despite having no previous experience managing in the Premier League and being away from club management for some time, these factors may not work in his favor during a potential job interview. However, Boehly and his team are looking for attractive football, an area in which the Spanish manager could excel.

Diego Simeone

It's difficult to envision a world where Simeone isn't patrolling the touchline for Atletico Madrid. However, this season, the future of El Cholo appears uncertain. His contract is set to expire in the summer, and his relationship with those in charge at the Wanda Metropolitano appears to have deteriorated. In addition, the team's on-field performances have stagnated, and they are currently 18 points behind Barcelona, the La Liga leaders.

Simeone has an outstanding record in the Spanish capital

Despite these recent challenges, Simeone has an outstanding record in the Spanish capital. Although he may not fit the "plays good football" mold, Boehly could still consider him to provide short-term success. Spare a thought for Joao Felix if this occurs before his loan deal concludes. He's only just managed to escape his adversary...

Roberto De Zerbi

After Potter left Brighton to join Stamford Bridge, many people predicted a negative future for the southern club. However, De Zerbi proved them wrong by leading the Seagulls to even greater success since taking over in September. The Italian coach made slight adjustments to Brighton's style, transforming them into an intimidating pressing machine that has garnered plenty of support from neutral spectators this season.

It is rumored that De Zerbi's contract includes a release clause of approximately £11.5 million, which is a considerable sum of money. Nevertheless, Boehly has shown in the past that he is not deterred by high costs.

Ruben Amorim

In recent years, an individual who is 38 years of age has gained a significant reputation for himself. He served as the head of Sporting Braga for a year before moving to Lisbon to become part of Sporting CP, where he has been extremely successful. The former midfielder of Benfica was able to secure a victory in the Primeira Liga in 2021, as well as the Taca da Liga two years in a row while leading Sporting.

However, his team is currently sitting 18 points behind the leaders, Benfica, and is no longer in contention this season. Amorim has emerged as one of the potential candidates for the position after Tuchel's dismissal, and the Blues may pursue him now that Potter has also been let go.

Brendan Rodgers

On Sunday, Leicester parted ways with their Northern Irish coach due to their disappointing season. Despite this setback, his track record as a coach is well-established, having previously led teams such as Swansea, Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester. During his four-year tenure with Leicester, he achieved two top-five finishes in the Premier League and secured the FA Cup victory. However, his recent failure to prevent Leicester from falling into the relegation zone may diminish his chances of being considered for a coaching role at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho

He has previously served as the manager of Chelsea on two occasions, and the possibility of him taking charge of the team for a third time is not out of the question. Recently, there have been rumors linking Mourinho to Paris Saint-Germain, as the club is reportedly contemplating dismissing Christophe Galtier.

There have been rumors linking Mourinho to Paris Saint-Germain

Reports in Italian media suggest that Mourinho has assessed his future and made a decision to remain at Roma for at least another year. Nevertheless, the 60-year-old may be inclined to return to Stamford Bridge, given the managerial vacancy at Chelsea.

Oliver Glasner

Several top jobs are being linked to Austrian coach Glasner due to his outstanding work at Eintracht Frankfurt. In recent weeks, the 48-year-old has been rumored to be considered for the Tottenham job, and Chelsea may also be interested in hearing him out. Despite a challenging start, the former defender led Eintracht Frankfurt to the Europa League triumph. While Glasner's team has displayed impressive performances this season and climbed to second place in the table, they have slipped to sixth after five winless games.
