The top four all-time best Juventus coaches

4. Antonio Conte (2011-2014)

Antonio Conte arrives at Juventus with great hopes as a former player. Due to his time as a midfielder with Juventus, he was a great fan favorite. Under Marcello Lippi, he led Juventus on the field and earned the hearts of the fans with his toughness, hard effort, and leadership as a player. In 2011, he returned to Juventus to replace the previous coach Luigi Delneri. Conte, despite all the hoopla and high expectations that surrounded him, kept his head down and delivered. Conte rapidly established himself at the club and achieved several milestones in his first season, including matching Fabio Capello's 28-game undefeated record.

While Antonio Conte's main failing appears to be Juventus' repeated defeats in Europe, the club was nearly invincible at times in Seria A. He deserves credit for a remarkable turnaround, for shaping a team and guiding them to a strong position in the years ahead.

3. Massimiliano Allegri (2014-19, 2021-present)

Allegri's entrance in Turin drew mixed reactions from supporters after he proved his value to Milan. Allegri's presence did not sit well with everyone when it came to form squads. However, in recent seasons, he has silenced his detractors by winning. After all, a professional manager's primary goal is to win, not to please.

Allegri spent his time molding the team to perfect his tactics and approaches after inheriting a very strong group from his predecessor, Antonio Conte. However, his tremendous success and historical significance demonstrate why he deserves to be on this list. Allegri guided Juventus to unparalleled success in Italy, winning three consecutive domestic doubles, a record that will be difficult to replicate in the future. The great strategist led Juventus to further European success, although they lost two UEFA Champions League finals in the last several seasons against Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Massimiliano Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri remains an important member of the current Juventus group, and with the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, they are off to their best start in club history. Allegri will be remembered for the rest of his life by the club and the supporters, regardless of what happens.

2. Giovanni Trapattoni (1976-1986, 1991-1994)

Giovanni Trapattoni is widely considered as one of the finest managers of all time, as well as one of Turin's most awarded and famous managers. The 'Old Lady' rose to new heights of prosperity under his leadership.

Giovanni Trapattoni

The incredible thing about this man's devotion for Juventus is that he managed the team not once, but twice—the first time for a decade. He demonstrated his excellence by winning every prize available at the time. Trapattoni won six league crowns, two Coppa Italia cups, and all of the European trophies available at the time. Juventus won the UEFA Cup in 1977, the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1984, the Intercontinental Cup the following summer, and their first European Cup against Liverpool in 1985. In 1991, he returned to win the UEFA Cup for the second time. Despite his defensive tactics, he was a great success in Italy, with another European Cup Final participation with Juve being one of his many significant accomplishments.

Due to his great managing ability, it's no surprise that he's a fan favorite with few detractors. He took Juve to new heights that no other coach had achieved before, cementing his place in the club's history.

1. Marcello Lippi (1994-1999, 2001-2004)

Lippi is perhaps the only manager in history to have won every major football award. He is widely considered as one of the best coaches of all time, having won the World Cup, the UCL, and several league titles. His most notable spell was at Juventus when he was able to resurrect the 'Old Lady' and lead them back to glory. He took over when Trapattoni's second spell at Juventus came to an end, and Juventus began a new age of success.

Lippi, who was known for his winning attitude, used to teach his players how to think like champions. He won four Seria A titles and led Juventus to three consecutive Champions League Finals, although only one of them was won. What was genuinely remarkable about Lippi was that he was a man who believed in the game's continual growth. During his time with Juventus, Italy was split between two other revolutionaries, Sacchi and Rocco, who had opposing styles and methods.

Marcello Lippi was able to adapt his structure and tactics to the needs of his various teams. With Juventus, he was in charge of numerous fantastic players with a few names that come to mind: Zinedine Zidane, Baggio, Ravanelli, Del Piero, and Antonio Conte.
