Man Utd reject West Ham offer for McTominay

According to reports, Manchester United has turned down a verbal offer from West Ham for midfielder Scott McTominay.

While the Hammers have engaged in discussions with McTominay, Manchester United is determined to retain him as a valuable member of their squad. The Times mentions that West Ham presented a 'verbal offer' for the Scottish international, but it did not meet United's valuation of £45 million ($57.8m).

Although the 26-year-old may not be a regular starter under manager Erik ten Hag, given the presence of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, and Mason Mount ahead of him in the midfield hierarchy, McTominay is considered an integral part of the team. Last season, he made 39 appearances across all competitions, but only 16 of those were as a starter, as his contract runs until 2025.

A product of the Manchester United academy, McTominay also has the option to extend his stay for an additional 12 months as part of his contract. West Ham is interested in acquiring him as they seek a replacement for Declan Rice, who moved to Arsenal in a £105 million ($137m) transfer. The Hammers are also in negotiations to sign Fulham's João Palhinha.

If McTominay remains with Manchester United, there's a possibility he could feature in their Premier League season opener at home against Wolves on August 14.

Manchester United send a difficult-to-refuse proposal to Hojlund

Man Utd's Second Bid for Rasmus Hojlund Confirmed; Atalanta Considers €70 Million Deal

Just one day after French media asserted PSG's official inquiry about Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, Manchester United takes action in response. Reports from English outlets reveal that Man Utd is preparing to send their final offer to Atalanta, leaving no room for refusal.

On the evening of July 27th, reputable French newspaper L'Equipe affirmed that PSG had made their initial bid to Atalanta for Hojlund. However, the French champions' offer of €50 million plus additional fees failed to convince the Italian club to part ways with their prized striker.

Merely 24 hours later, multiple English sources broke the news that Manchester United is readying their second and final proposal for Hojlund. Following Atalanta's rejection of the first bid worth €60 million with an additional €10 million in fees, the "Red Devils" are now accelerating to prepare for the upcoming season.

According to the latest information, the Old Trafford-based club has agreed to pay Atalanta €70 million along with an extra €5 million in fees. As for Hojlund, Manchester United has long secured a personal agreement with the 20-year-old Danish forward, which is not a concern.

Manchester United is fully focused on acquiring the young striker and, with July drawing to a close, they are not prepared to seek other transfer targets. Consequently, the English club is eager to finalize the deal early, allowing manager Erik Ten Hag and his team to fully concentrate on the new season.

Coach Ten Hag is eagerly anticipating the day Hojlund joins the "Red Devils.

Atalanta seems to have planned for a future without Hojlund. As reported by Italian media, the club is finalizing the signing of forward El Bilal Toure from Almeria. This move could pave the way for Hojlund's transfer to Manchester United.

The Daily Express adds that this second offer from Man Utd could entirely shatter PSG's ambitions in the Hojlund deal. PSG initially considered the young striker as a signing for the future, but they are in need of prominent stars like Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen to replace Kylian Mbappe immediately. This explains why PSG offered a lower price to Atalanta.

Even if Atalanta accepts this second proposal, Manchester United may not have enough time to bring Rasmus Hojlund to the United States for their summer tour. The last match of Ten Hag's team in the US is against Dortmund (12 a.m. on July 31st GMT+0).

Nonetheless, Hojlund will still have time to adapt to his new team's system, in case he joins the ranks of the "Red Devils." On August 5th and 6th, Man Utd will play two friendly matches against Lens and Bilbao. These could be opportunities for the 20-year-old Danish forward to introduce himself to the Manchester United fans before embarking on his new journey.
