Mason Greenwood Training with Getafe: Slick Scoring Skills and Delighted Fans

Mason Greenwood took center stage during Getafe's training session on September 5th. This marked his inaugural training session with the La Liga club following his one-year loan deal from Manchester United.

In a video shared by Getafe on social media, Greenwood's agility and finishing finesse were on full display. Notably, the 21-year-old forward received enthusiastic support from fans whenever he scored. After the training session, he happily interacted with fans and posed for photos.

Getafe secured Greenwood's services in the summer 2023 transfer window without any loan fee, and a significant portion of his £75,000 per week wages will be covered by Manchester United.

Wearing the number 12 jersey, Greenwood is expected to make his debut for Getafe against Osasuna in the fourth round of La Liga on September 17th at the Alfonso Pérez stadium.

According to reports from The Athletic, the agreement between the two clubs includes a clause allowing Getafe to terminate the loan and return Greenwood to Manchester United in January 2024 if he fails to meet performance expectations.

The Madrid-based club exercised caution in signing Greenwood due to his absence from competitive play since January 2022 when he was involved in a legal dispute. Manchester United suspended all training and match activities for the 21-year-old forward during that period.

On August 21st, Manchester United confirmed Greenwood's departure after an internal investigation, despite the dismissal of allegations against him. The decision was made due to public pressure.

Prior to joining Getafe, Greenwood faced rejections from several clubs, including Brentford, Dortmund, AS Roma, AC Milan, and some Saudi Arabian teams. Getafe itself faced criticism for signing Greenwood, especially from organizations advocating for women's rights.

However, head coach Jose Bordales defended the club's decision, saying, 'We all know how things ended, and Greenwood was not convicted. He is a talented player, and he joined Getafe with great enthusiasm.
