Spurs' quest for Europa League qualification has been set for the final day showdown against Sheffield United.

Tottenham's confirmation of their Europa League spot for the next season remains pending after the latest round of matches, with Manchester United, Newcastle, and Chelsea all involved. Despite Tottenham's loss to Manchester City, they retained 63 points, leaving open the possibility of securing fifth place even without playing.

The Europa League qualification picture saw a significant shift on Wednesday. Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Newcastle, led by Erik ten Hag, enhanced their prospects, while Newcastle faced a setback.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's disciplined performance against Brighton, despite a tense finale due to a Reece James red card, propelled them to 60 points, three points ahead of both Newcastle and Manchester United.

With just a six-point gap among the four teams, the permutations for the final day have become clearer, prompting Betimate to analyze all potential scenarios.

In summary, Tottenham needs only to avoid defeat to secure their confirmed Europa League spot based on final standings. Even a draw, while not ideal for Ange Postecoglou's team, would suffice regardless of Chelsea's result against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Lilywhites can finish no lower than sixth, a position usually enough for Europa League qualification in the following season. However, this time around, it might not be sufficient. Following their last league match against Brighton, Manchester United's season continues with the FA Cup final against Manchester City the following week.

While Manchester City is the clear favorite, a victory for United would secure them a Europa League spot, potentially at the expense of the team finishing sixth. The goal difference also plays a crucial role, especially with Newcastle boasting a superior tally of +22.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has a goal difference of +13, while Spurs closely follow with +10. A victory for Chelsea and a loss for Tottenham against Sheffield United would see the Blues finish above their London rivals. Finally, Manchester United, currently eighth, enters the final day at a significant disadvantage with a goal difference of -3.
