Joelinton is accused of drinking – driving

Two days after his team's Carabao Cup semifinal first leg against Southampton, Newcastle's Joelinton is scheduled to appear before a magistrate's court on an allegation of driving under the influence. The 26-year-old Brazilian striker-turned-midfielder was pulled over by police at 1.20 a.m. on Thursday in the city's Ponteland Road neighborhood and failed a breathalyzer test. Former Newcastle manager Steve Bruce acquired Joelinton from Hoffenheim for £40 million in 2019.

Joelinton has been Newcastle's main stay this season

Joelinton resides in the Darras Hall region of the Ponteland, a sizable village in Northumberland that is home to numerous local footballers. Prior to Eddie Howe, Bruce's replacement, moving him to a left-sided midfield position last season, he initially failed as a center-forward. Since then, Joelinton Casio, 26, of Ponteland, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear before Newcastle magistrates on January 26. Howe, who was promptly informed of the event, takes pleasure in upholding strict rules both on and off the field.
