The Premier League accuses Man City of financial allegations

Following allegations of several financial rule violations by the Premier League, Manchester City responded sharply. The league accuses City of breaking the regulation that "correct financial information that gives a truthful and fair representation of the club's financial status" must be provided "in the utmost good faith." According to the league, precise financial data is needed for "income (including sponsorship money), its linked parties, and its running expenditures."

Some of the allegedly broken rules relate to clubs' obligations to assist and comply with the Premier League's investigations. According to reports, the Premier League may face a range of penalties, including point reductions. The club has consistently aggressively refuted allegations of financial rule violations, and they have now responded with a statement.

It read: 'Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with.

Guardiola maintained confidence amid concerns

At this point, Guardiola truly let his opinions be known. When questioned about FFP last year, the former coach of Barcelona and Bayern Munich vowed to quit his position if the accusations were confirmed. However, the remarks clearly contained a strong belief in people working behind the scenes.

He stated: "Why did I defend the club and the people? It's because I work with them.

"When they are accused of something I ask them; 'Tell me about that'. They explain and I believe them. I said to them; 'If you lie to me, the day after I am not here'. I will be out and I will not be your friend anymore.

"I put my faith in you because I believe you 100 percent from day one. I defend the club because of that.

"When you put something here [sponsor] then it's overpaid, but other [clubs] the money comes from the USA, but the money is correct, even if it's higher. We have to deal with that, we have to fight with that.
