Muslim supporters of Liverpool's Mo Salah have criticized him for posting a photo of a Christmas tree

Muslim supporters of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah have criticized him on social media after Salah shared a photo of his family standing next to a Christmas tree. Muslim Salah published the image on his Twitter and Instagram accounts with the hashtag "#MerryChristmas." The 30-year-old dressed in identical pajamas for his customary Christmas post with his family, which includes his wife Magi and children Makka and Kayan.

Although Muslims don't typically celebrate Christmas, some do take part in the celebrations that occur around the Christian holiday. Muslims who support Salah have criticized his tweet, the majority of which came from outside the UK. One stated: "I shall unfollow you and quit supporting Liverpool because you are enjoying Christmas with the Christians."

Another person chimed in, saying, "I've been a Liverpool supporter since I was born, but I'm going to quit backing the team because you guys are celebrating Christmas with the Christians. Mo Salah, you have lost me as a supporter. Goodbye!'

Salah, Mo As a Madrid supporter, I adored you. I thought you were a great player, and I always looked up to you. But now that I've read this tweet, I can't look up to you anymore. "You let me down," I said. I'll have to stop following you if you don't remove this tweet," a third person warned.

Others backed the forward from Egypt, with one supporter dubbing him the "African GOAT."

'To us you are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe combined. Enjoy,' they said.

Another fan said: 'The most anticipated Christmas post annually. Merry Christmas Mo.'

He is anticipated to start for Jurgen Klopp's team against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, their first Premier League contest following the World Cup.

Stars from across the sporting world wished supporters a Merry Christmas and shared photos from their celebrations with loved ones. With no major sport scheduled on Christmas Day, the majority of athletes were granted a day off to spend with family. And Kylian Mbappe led several footballers in wishing their followers a happy Christmas.

The PSG attacker and World Cup Golden Boot winner shared a picture of himself and his younger brother Ethan Mbappe on social media. Ethan Mbappe gained popularity when PSG junior team action footage went viral.

Harry Kane, the captain of England, also posted a picture of himself in the snow with his wife and three kids, who were all riding on a sled.

"Muy feliz Navidad para todos!" is what the former Liverpool player Luis Suarez said with a photo of his family. It means "a very Merry Christmas to everybody!"

Gabriel Jesus, an Arsenal striker, also shared a photo of himself with his family, many of whom were dressed in identical pajamas, along with the message, "Feliz Natal todos," which translates to "Merry Christmas everyone." Vinicius Jr., a Real Madrid player, and Luka Modric, a World Cup standout, all posted holiday-themed pictures of themselves with their families. Modric, who recently returned from the World Cup, is relaxing in the Maldives.

World Cup champion Lionel Messi's wife posted a photo of the Messi family posing in front of their Argentinean Christmas tree and wished everyone a "Merry Christmas."

As part of a series of pictures of him and his daughter together, Jesse Lingard also posted a picture of himself wearing a fairly elaborate ginger wig and holding his child on his lap.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a well-known outspoken Swedish striker, jokingly posted: "Merry Christmas to you and your wives!" while pretending to engage in some boxing during the holiday season. Ciao.'

Outside of football, boxing heavyweight Tyson Fury tweeted: "Merry Xmas from The Furys!" alongside a photo of his family wearing identical pajamas. The word "Daddy Fury" was printed on Fury's pajamas; perhaps they were brand-new for this season!
