The year 2022 "seriously tested" Dennis Adeniran, but he is back and ready to contribute to Sheffield Wednesday's championship defense. The well-liked midfielder had a disappointing year after being sidelined twice with injuries and only managing to appear in four games before making a comeback last week in Wednesday's season-ending game.

The Adeniran, though, claims that his teammates and manager, Darren Moore, have been essential on his difficult path to rehabilitation and that he is ready to go in 2023. After his 24th birthday, 5-0 victory over Cambridge United, the England youth international told The Star, "I feel like, mentally, it has really pushed me. However, I've always tried to stay upbeat, look for the bright side of things, and keep pushing forward. I feel fitter and stronger today than I did in the beginning. Now that the anguish is gone, I am prepared to leave.

"It's been a challenging road, but my colleagues have supported me every step of the way. They have encouraged me to press on while maintaining my happiness and smile. "Darren has also always advised me to keep my head down and showed me the light at the end of the tunnel. He stated that I would play if I worked hard.”

Moore has stiff competition in the midfield, though, and Adeniran claims that the club is aware of their desired position at the conclusion of the season. If given a chance to play against Newcastle United in the FA Cup this weekend, Adeniran will be seeking to extend his winning streak of all seven games played for Wednesday so far this season in all competitions.

Eddie Howe receives a pretty ironic beating from Sheffield Wednesday as they warm up for Newcastle United

Having played outstanding defense to gain a draw at Premier League leaders Arsenal, Eddie Howe's Newcastle United team enters FA Cup play. If NUFC keeps another one against Sheffield Wednesday, it would be their seventh straight clean sheet in both league and (Carabao) Cup play, which will undoubtedly advance them to the fourth round.

Eddie Howe receives a pretty ironic beating from Sheffield Wednesday

Newcastle United will compete against a confident Sheffield Wednesday team that is currently second in League One. They are four points behind Plymouth, but two points in front of Ipswich, and a whopping 11 points ahead of fourth-place Derby County. Two out of three for the automatic promotion berths and the playoffs for the member of the current top trio who doesn't make it seem very likely.

When I look at the online comments made by Sheffield Wednesday supporters, I see a lot of discussion about how strong of a team to play against Newcastle, with promotion being the top concern. However, Sheffield Wednesday doesn't play until the following Saturday, giving them a full week to prepare, while Newcastle faces Leicester on Tuesday in the quarterfinal.

Regarding attendance for the FA Cup game, a turnout of about 25,000 people is already certain. The 4,500 tickets for the away game were quickly snatched up by Newcastle supporters, while only about 11,000 home seats have been sold out so far. Recalling the Monday warm-up game between Newcastle United and Sheffield Wednesday. As far as Eddie Howe is concerned, it has a really good ironic aspect to it because the 5-0 beating was against Cambridge United. On January 8, 2022, Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United squad played Cambridge. That was almost exactly a year ago.

Despite finishing second with Sheffield Wednesday, Darren Moore is not content

There were 51,395 spectators at St James' Park on that particular day, and a real smash-and-grab saw Ironside score in the 56th with essentially Cambridge's lone opportunity. Eddie Howe now has just one victory out of nine matches since joining Newcastle United, but to be quite honest, I didn't give a damn about the loss, even if the media had a field day with it.

Due to the catastrophic relegation scenario that the new owners and Eddie Howe had inherited from Ashley and Bruce, I just believed that further cup games were the last thing Newcastle needed. Anyway, it will be a year and two days after that FA Cup loss when Newcastle plays Leicester on Tuesday night, so I think it is worthwhile to examine what has transpired in matches at St. James' Park since that setback to Cambridge.
